An Illinois granny savagely battered her grandchildren's cat and four kittens to death with a hammer after the youngsters refused to tidy their rooms, police said.
Josephine Bell allegedly threatened to "take away" the five defenseless animals after getting angry at the children's lack of cleanliness at the family's Godfrey home, reports KTVI.
The 71-year-old is then accused of carrying out her warning on Sunday night.
Bell was busted the next evening after her 13-year-old granddaughter opened her freezer to look for a snack and discovered her dead cat inside.
She texted another relative, who then called cops.
Madison County investigators arrived and Bell allegedly confessed to killing the pets and throwing the kittens in the garbage.
How many milliseconds after this story broke did Democrats offer her a job in politics?

Whoa, upon initial glance, I turned the apostrophe into a comma. Yes, she’s sick, and deserves prison time, but wow, I was thinking she did in the kids and kitties.
Well, the important thing to remember here is that she was just giving the cat a late-term abortion!

Weird. But come on, these were animals. Called the COPS? Sheesh.
My initial reaction was that she did it in front of the kids. My dad used to complain that on the farm it was his job to drown the kittens and puppies. I’m not sure that was true. He grew up to be a very kind and loving person. But I guess on a subsistence farm with five kids, it was the only way to deal with it. I’m sure by then (1920s) they knew how to neuter cattle and horses but didn’t bother with dogs and who could find a cat’s balls anyway?

For what it is worth, I find this cruel.. not only to the cat and kittens but the grandkids. She shouldn’t be around them IMHO. She’s a cruel, mean, vile woman.
Five counts of animal cruelty, six months per count in county lockup served consecutively. Maybe two and a half years with a stainless steel toilet will give her time to think.
LMAO I did the same thing! Sad about the kittens but thank god the kids are only emotionally damaged.
