Dying with the boots on!!!
No surprise when an extreme athlete reaches the definitive endpoint.

So not only is BASE jumping in Yosemite illegal - it is also dangerous. I wonder if they both looked at each other and said “Hey dude - at least we died doing something we like!”
Obviously the danger is the thrill. But I wonder if, during those last moments they thought “Well that was stupid.”
Matthew 4
5 Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, 6 and said to Him, If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written:
He shall give His angels charge over you,
and,
In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.[b]
7 Jesus said to him, It is written again, You shall not tempt the Lord your God.
His dog did not look like a willing participant in any of those photos!
He was known to take his dog, Whisper, jumping with him. I hope Whisper didn’t go on this trip. As for the athlete, I think he was an idiot.
YouTube had video of a Russian(iirc) basejumper leaping from a tower and having a failure to deploy.
They reached the snow at the bottom, it looked like the old roadrunner vs wile e coyote cartoons when Wiley falls ending in the puff of dust.
He looks older than 43.
At least he didn’t endanger anyone else. I think drivers who text and put makeup on are way bigger idiots than this guy. They don’t give a sh1t about anyone else around them.
My son was doing a solo climb of El Capitan when this guy and another climber passed him doing a speed ascent.
Living in the fast lane came to an abrupt end.
Potter was often accompanied on his climbs and jumps by his miniature Australian cattle dog, Whisper, who became a bit of a celebrity, too, although Whisper was not on the fatal flight.
They say you're only as old as you feel. But he might still be around if he acted his age.
Fortunately my son isn’t into the extreme climbing. He does cutting edge scientific research and has a PhD in engineering. Very methodical.
