It is a federal crime to put an item in a mail box other than mail. Opening a mailbox without permission is a crime.
Homeowners need to be aware that even though they purchased and maintain the residential mailbox, the mailbox belongs to and is controlled by the USPS (United States Postal Service). That means that any tampering of the mailbox is a federal offense.

I would have my kids go over, knock on the door, and offer to walk their dogs for free. That should soften them up.

I live near Boulder, CO. If I put out Republican election signs they are immediately stolen and there are usually multiple leftist signs in the same place. In my small neighborhood I estimate I have one conservative neighbor and the rest libs. Someone has placed my car for sale on craigs list and recently my mail box is sometimes full of garbage. I try to be a good neighbor and pull them out of the ditch in winter and I pretty much get treated like crap by the libs. I don’t know why they act like haters and then call me when they need help, but I am close to cutting them off.
It is sad that she passed, but I didn't cry for very long. She was in her 90s.

My former neighbor had this narky little dog.
She would hook it on a short lead outside where it would incessantly bark.
The day she moved, it choked to death.
One minute we heard the barking, then suddenly everyone was like “wait, did it finally shut up?”
Nobody cared, so we didn’t pay attention to it.
Well, it had fallen off her porch and hung itself.
I’d quit a long time ago.
For too long I let myself be taken advantage of as the nice guy and at the end, get lied to or screwed over somehow.
I have a pair of stalinist rabid liberals whom I am stuck with as long as I live here. They are 60s-70s and of course in great health and probably live to be 90 too while they tick off everyone and act like a pair of fools.
They were basically OK for a few years but the guy flipped out one day and stayed that way. After a few run-ins there is a DMZ at the property line. They will get nothing from me. I expect nothing from them.
I’ve done my best to not mingle with known liberals and feel a lot better. It seems that I don’t socialize that much anymore.
Will somebody shut that kid up?

My jerk neighbor would write something like this but probably doesn’t have a working PC if he ever had one at all. His rants to the editor are most likely mailed in. They are funny when they are published.
He’d be too cheap to use ink and too earf conscious to use the few extra amps of a laser printer so it would be handwritten on a used sheet of paper with glaring spelling errors and poor grammar.
He put up some cardboard sign in his front yard angry at some local thing apparently no one else cared about. Half of it was misspelled. Wished I had taken a picture.

You are right.. I have been inconsiderate.
My son has been out in the back yard all week with nobody to play with, so he carries on like that... and I apologize.
It is so nice that you love your dogs so. My son has been asking me for a dog as well, but until this last year we didn’t have a place for one and I just never got around to it.
Therefore, tomorrow I will be getting him a golden retriever... I understand retrievers just love to talk a lot to just about anything that moves... so maybe my son will do less talking and listen for once. They are excellent watch dogs and are very good with kids.
My son has also been asking me for a BB gun. I think I’ll get one of those for him too, and start spending some good quality time with my son in the back yard from now on.
Oh... and by the way... If you do feel a need to call the police, best time is after 11:00. I deliver donuts there every day around 10:30 so they should be in an extra good mood to help you.

Thomas, Please tell me when the federal government started enforcing the rule of law - especially in the last 6 years ?
I think that this is, with near certainty IMHO, a practical joke.
