Probably just as well. Might as well go out on top. I thought Season 5 was the weakest of them all. It was a muddled mess. Stories all over the place.

Like
Upstairs Downstairs, they'll be back eventually.
The franchise is too big a deal to just die.
In the meantime, I'm looking forward to the Lady Mary / Lady Edith slapdown on WWE.

It was good in the beginning but it’s time to put it down. Season five was a mess. The best way to watch it is by recording it and fast forwarding through the homo stuff ( and Edith). I bet they’ll cast a boyfriend for Thomas.

I’m predicting that Tom Branson and Lady Mary will get together, and that Edith will end up saving Downtown with her publishing business. Moseley and Baxter will hook up, the Dowager will die and leave everything to Matthew’s mom. Daisy will join the Royal College of Surgeons and Thomas will get the Oscar Wilde Flamer Award.
Lord Grantham will croak from a heart attack and Cora will look sad and vacuous then go to America.

The series really didn't survive Matthew's death.
I thought it would be a timeless classic I would watch again and again, but now when Season Six is done that will probably be the last time I watch it.
