On Thursday, a local source in Nineveh province said, that the ‘Wild Boar’ aircraft which belongs to the U.S. Air Force has carried out four air strikes that killed and wounded dozens of ISIS elements, adding that the aircraft sparked panic in the ranks of ISIS.

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “The U.S. aircraft A-10 Warthog (Wild Boar) carried out, at dawn today, four air strikes on gatherings of ISIS elements in the village of Sultan Abdullah in Makhmour district, southeast Mosul,” adding that, “The raids resulted in the death and injury of dozens of ISIS elements.”

The source, who requested anonymity, added, “The aircraft sparked panic in the ranks of ISIS after bombing its elements and flying in spaces close to the ground,” adding that, “Elements of the terrorist organization targeted the aircraft with 4 Strela missiles and but that did not cause it any damage, prompting the remaining elements of the organization to leave the bodies of their dead and carry the wounded to escape towards the Shirqat district (120 km north of Tikrit).”

And we have a Sec. of the Air Force that is determined to scrap the A-10. She is an Idiot!

>> All this thing does is kick ass and take names and the Air Force still hates it. Let the Marines and Army take them.

> The Marines want no part of the A-10.

Every 11B I talked to who’d had received support from the A-10 loved it.
Maybe it’s the sort of sensibility you get when you have experience.

She says they will be phased out in 5 years. This warplane is perfect for this savage Muslim terrorist elimination role.
Probably which the Administration wants it gone.

It makes no sense to me. I know B-52s are also old and not sexy, but war fought properly is not flashy at all. Why would you want to scrap a flying gatling gun? Idiots!

The Marines want no part of the A-10. ...................... Its an ARMY thing, they need it because of sustained operations against armored vehicles and to counter artillery. A 10s can respond to the scene quicker than track vehicles and helicopters and with a more powerful and quick punch. They are great close air support with a mixed package. They were built by Republic Aviation, are they still in business?

They’ve been trying to retire this old BEAST for a long time. I think to do that would be a colossal mistake. The WartHog is the jet version of the “JUG” so famously nicknamed by the brave men who flew them during WWII (My father-in-law BG. Donald W. “Bud” Guilfoyle for one...Silver Star recipient and recent RI Aviation Hall of Famer). They, the A10s, are as reliable and as badass(even more so) as the JUG ever was according to General “Bud” who had first hand experience in both.

I wonder how the F-35 is going to do in this role?

It can't. The role is loitering over a site with massive air-to-ground firepower, like the A-10's nose Gatling gun. The role requires a low stall speed using the airframe and not directed thrust. And a big gun...

The A-10 is obsolete, don’t you know.

Transfer it to the Marines and Army - problem solved.

I am waiting for the day they convert a KC-135 Stratotanker into a PF-135. The PF designation being new for “Pig Fat”. The PF-135 would have a heat plant that boils pig fat. When over Muslim targets, it sprays the molten pig fat killing the vile, evil scum in a slow unmerciful manner. Personally, I don’t have a problem with cruelty in it. They will burn in hell anyway.

I think the military supplier lobbyists have been greasing too many palms... there’s not a lot of money in perpetuation this bad boy. But I would rather see them make thousands of these with some updates...and fill them with good pilots...or drone them.

Well now we know where to find them......
Blast em to bits. Let the sand fleas feast on the remains.

The Sec. of the Air Force states that the A-10 should be retired. Of course she has zero combat experience.

Did I mention that I like pork?
