Apparently, though to a lesser degree, so are some conservative animal lovers.

good number of freepers have some pockets of liberal thought......

If the dog moves suddenly the child could take a hard hit on the chin coming down on the edge of the sink.

Better to teach the child to use a real stepstool. I would not have let my children do this.

I miss the old Cat scan days/website when people got scanners for Christmas, scanned their cats, posted the ix and PETA went ballistic.

Why bigbob, that is exactly what I did. If the kid was standing on Debbie Wasserman Schulz, I wouldn’t be offended.

I like her a lot but any Mother would never allow this to happen and even if it did they wouldn’t post it on Facebook. And that is not petting for sure.

Lighten up, Francis.

If the dog was in pain, he would move.

PDS’ers like you are so intellectually shallow and lack any common sense.

I saw this on Facebook this AM. I figured a long about noon it would be the issue of the day. I love being right. :) The dog looks OK with it and as as long as the dog is OK.... I like when I can find the right sized kid to walk on my back. Feels good.

That it happened is no problem. The dog could knock the boy off if he was hurting. BUT TO SHARE THE FULL STANDING ONE AS A PROUD LEARNING MOMENT, not so much. She is tone deaf sometimes.

Possibly, but that's a stretch.

Sarah should have told him that he could hurt the dog by doing that.

It is ridiculous to slam Sarah, but kids sometimes do stupid things to old loving dogs.

The one posted here is tame. A child should not be standing on an animal.

Agreed.

Its a THERAPY DOG..do these idiots not know the whole idea of Trig having this dog is to assist him..and you can see that the dog has a smile on his face he is NOT in any distress. My little cousins do this with their white lab Maggie all the time..I can understand if this were a small dog this would NOT be a good idea but this is a large dog its fine..idiots are always finding things to be angry about..get a life!

Good grief. Some people need to get a life. The dog has not been injured by this treatment, and no doubt when the boy is bigger, he won’t stand on the dog.

Not allowing a kid to stand on the dog is not a liberal thought. it is called discipline.

Geesh.

I bet that dog gets to share Trig’s cookies and other treats as well.

If the dog sees something across the room and decides to get up and go to it, the child could fall.

It's just commonsense that dogs are not stepstools.

It's not good parenting to encourage this. I don't care who she is.

Isn’t that the case. My girls used to dress up one of the dogs while my boys rough housed with the other. Each dog loved it. Seems the Palin dog isn’t complaining.

This case really is no big deal, but Sarah often makes choices that have lots of downside and little upside.

Part of what Palin has been doing as she exploded on the national scene and started building a conservative movement during 2008, was to encourage conservatives to quit being so timid and afraid, of every little finger wagging from the media.
