Are College Fraternities the SAFEST Places for Women to Socialize?
Self | December 12, 2014 | PJ-Comix

Think about it. The left is constantly trying to portray college fraternities as being chock full of white guys who use their "privilege" to demean women to the extent of mass raping them. So how many such cases of college frat gang rape have been found? Try ZERO. The left had high hopes with the Rolling Stoned UVA frat alleged rape case but that fairy tale has fallen apart.

If there were instances of rapes at college frat parties wouldn't they have already been discovered and PROVEN?

Therefore I have to conclude that the safest place for women on campuses to be are college frats. One big reason why there isn't serial rape at such frats is that believe it or not there is a gentlemanly code of behavior (call it chivalry) that absolutely wouldn't tolerate rape.

There was a decent-looking, 5’6” frat boy I knew in college who developed a “theorem” which he named after himself (omitted because I think he lurks here). His (blank)-Theorem stated that at any given frat party at his frat (he lived upstairs), he could ask 20 women very directly if they wanted to go upstairs and have sex, one would say “yes” and he would get laid that night. He always asked in kind of a goofy, funny way, such that he could laugh off their negative responses and move on. When he found a taker, as he escorted her upstairs, he would whisper the number of women he had to ask to get to a “yes” to a frat brother who was in on the “theorem”.

It never got as high as 20.

If she is blacked out drunk, it is rape.

Traditionally, it was rape if she was unconscious and unaware that she was having sex, or who she was having sex with. That I can agree with.

The standard of "it's rape if she is even mildly intoxicated" is a recent standard, and seems prone to abuse by women who are upset that one night of sex didn't get them eternal commitment from the guy.

There is a lot of unwanted sex at frat parties. My cousin was new to college and drinking, and had a bit too much, and was alone somewhere in the frat basement and someone had his way with her -— she was coerced but not forced, but it was definitely not wanted. She was naive and barely 18. Girls like that feel sickened and also guilty. They do take responsibility — they shouldn’t have been there, shouldn’t have been drinking. They don’t report it. But it’s still unwanted sex and might happen 100 times a semester.

Well, after the 100th episode that semester, maybe you should have had an intervention with your cousin.

More seriously, she "was coerced but not forced, but it was definitely not wanted" is very ambiguous. Keep in mind that the boys in question are ALSO "somewhat naive", and not mind readers (especially after a few drinks). To a teenage guy, there is a major difference between the girl saying "I'm not comfortable doing this" versus "No, I don't want to, I'm leaving" and her getting up and leaving. Statements like "I'm not comfortable" or "I'm not sure" are taken as invitations to continue making out until she goes along.

I’m still laughing. “gentlemanly code of behavior” now there’s a good one. Apparently you have never been to a frat party at FSU. LOL! I don’t know of any rapes but its pretty much “ladies watch your six” at the very least. I got sick of it by sophomore year.

My brother went to Duke but Chapel Hill got the best chicks. My favorite memory was seeing all the girls dolled up in dresses on rush night.

I didn’t say it happened hundred of times with my cousin! ;)

But I agree. The guys are immature and excited and drunk, and it’s hard for them to feel the exact difference between being seductive and coercive.

So these things will happen. However, the original question was, is a girl, safe at a frat house party, a house based on partying and getting some. She would be safer just dating a guy she met on campus.

The actual question was "Are College Fraternities the SAFEST Places for Women to Socialize?", which I interpreted as "place to meet new guys, with an eye towards snagging a boyfriend".

I would think the frat house would be SAFER than the bars and night clubs, purely for the fact that the guys she would be meeting would, to a degree, be pre-screened by the frat as not being wanted felons or criminal psychopaths (something that could not be said about the bar scene).

Perhaps the frat houses should put up a sign on the front door:

Ladies !

The major reason we are supplying you with free booze and food

Is because we want our frat brothers to have a reasonable likelihood of having sex with you.

If you are going to be completely unwilling to have sex with us

Then please go elsewhere and don't consume our booze!

Twin Falls man sentenced to 15 years for frat house rape

Did you read through the story and notice that 1) the rapist was not a member of the fraternity, and 2) the rape took place outside the fraternity house, after the rapist and his victim left the party together?
