I could spend all summer, every summer in Michigan’s upper Peninsula and do it at a fraction of the cost of globetrotting.
Jamaica should be on the list. One step off any resort is squalor.
A summer on the waters of Southeast Alaska with at least a 38 foot boat. Pure Heaven on Earth. Period.
4. Paris: Worst city on earth
5. Venice: A gigantic tourist trap
6. Dubai: Smoke and mirrors
7. Jamaica: I will never go back
8. Bali: Every beach sucks
Stonehenge, and surrounding area, was fascinating.
Can't speak to the Pyramids, or to Paris.
Zucotti Park. I heard it was the center of free thinking progress. But it turned out to be infested with smelly vermin who never showered and didn’t know how to use a toilet.

Instead of going to those henges they should visit Carhenge in Alliance, Nebraska!
Vegas sucks. I went there on business once for a conference. The only way I’m going back is if I have a nuke in the trunk of my car.
We stayed at the Luxor because they had $50 rooms. I knew it was a mistake the second I walked in. The place stank like the ashtray of a 30 year old taxi. I had to wait in line for an hour and a half to check in. I would’ve canceled and went somewhere else but in Vegas, your credit card gets billed the second you hit the send button for a reservation and it’s non-refundable.
There’s two Vegas’s. The 1%-ers get the special restaurants, bars, swimming pools, and everything else that have no waiting, a dozen people in the place, and an over-manned staff that waits on them hand and foot. The rest of us are livestock.
Due to the numerous complaints, our conference was in Vegas once and it’s never going back. Thanks for the education. Screw you, Vegas.
I found Rome to be congested and dirty, but still well worth the trip. The history was amazing and I saw the Sistine Chapel after the renovation/cleaning. Impossible to describe. A definite must see in person.
Lived in LA since 59 on and off. San Diego now.
It’s a great family destination. Beach, D-Land Universal, Knotts. Down the Fwy world class zoo and Zafari animal Park, Legoland. Did I mention beach. World class and discount shopping. Missions Best theatre outside NYC. Great club and music scene. Architecture, museum including the Getty and Huntington Library. Warm winters usually mild summers near the coast.
I think these lists are meant to get publicity.
Anybody, do they let you inside the pyramids?
I’ve got a friend who, on his last trip to San Antonio, overheard a woman at the Alamo complaining about how disappointed she was that the idiots in San Antonio built the Alamo “downtown”. Hmmm. She must have been one of those Gruber Americans.
Venice is wonderful. Whomever wrote the article did not try very hard.
This is a good list. One place I would go back to (and do often) is the Oregon coast. Summer temps in the 60s, they consider it murderously hot if the temp ever touches 80. Rugged beauty. The people are nice.
Agree with Stonehenge. However Bath is nearby and a great Roman bath ruin. Good day trip from London.
I sued Delta Airlines!
Cuz they sold me a ticket to New Jersey!
I went there! And it sucked!!
