Lived in LA since 59 on and off. San Diego now.

It’s a great family destination. Beach, D-Land Universal, Knotts. Down the Fwy world class zoo and Zafari animal Park, Legoland. Did I mention beach. World class and discount shopping. Missions Best theatre outside NYC. Great club and music scene. Architecture, museum including the Getty and Huntington Library. Warm winters usually mild summers near the coast.

I think these lists are meant to get publicity.

I found Cat Ba island in Vietnam to be very cool to visit, but if you want to do it, do it soon, I can easily see it becoming a place that caters to one percenters and their yachts like John Kerry within 10 to 20 years. I do travel world wide alot, and there are a few places that stand out, I find most are just third world same ol’ same ol’. I for one am happy to just drive my ‘66 landcruiser top off, and windshield down across Nevada, there is plenty of stunning vistas, and no people.

Been to San Diego three times. Loved every minute. Went/did the things you mentioned.

A beautiful city on a beautiful location with beautiful weather.

One time stayed in the Marriott—loved the Convention Center and Seaport Village. All three times there, my wife and I ate at the Pier restaurant there.

Loved Point Loma,Coronado and La Jolla.

Stayed once at the Hilton across from North Island NAS. Just sat on the balcony and watched the planes flying, and the aircraft carriers drift by! From there, it is a beautiful view of downtown San Diego.

Hope to return some day.

My bucket list includes the Reagan Library in Simi Valley. Watching his funeral, I was struck by the beauty there.
