China just shot off their third hypersonic vehicle test. (success) I worked on hypersonic tech in the early 90’s, What’s wrong with this picture. It will be doomsday soon for the USA, mark my words unless there isn’t a major turnaround in attitude in this country.

Anyone relying on an entertainer for political leadership is a lo-info idiot.

And anyone wasting their time arguing that this entertainer is nothing but an entertainer is also a lo-info idiot..........

APPLIED ECONOMICS: Thinking Beyond Stage One

By Thomas Sowell

In one of his early economics courses as a Harvard undergraduate, Thomas Sowell was asked by the professor to say what policy he advocated to deal with some major issue. Sowell eagerly replied, giving a standard interventionist prescription that he figured would impress the professor. (In his youthful days, Sowell was a leftist.) The professor, Arthur Smithies, then surprised Sowell by asking, "And then what will happen?" Sowell stumbled around for an answer to the unexpected question, and after he gave it, Smithies again asked, "And then what will happen?"

From that encounter, Sowell drew a crucial lesson: Don't stop thinking at stage one. Professor Smithies, to whom the book is dedicated, had taught him that a good economist doesn't simply look at the immediate and obvious consequences of an action, but tries to think through all of the long-run consequences as well. Unfortunately, most Americans are not good economists and therefore are easy prey for crusading politicians who say, "Elect me and I'll pass laws to ensure good education (or housing, or medical care, etc.)."

That sounds suspiciously like the 2nd grade argument of 'you're another'.

He's an entertainer. He makes his money from selling advertising minutes.

That's what he does.

Take your pick: communism and gulags, or capitalism and freedom.

I agree....I have a long list of beefs with the chi-coms.

I invested a portion of my retirement savings in a couple of their fraudulent companies that were US listed.

They are up to no good.....tentacles like octopuses are entwined in every corner of the globe today...

They are currently building a airstrip in the south china sea and logic follows that they will extend their air cap over the entire area causing a great deal of turmoil.

They are also very integrated into the US higher education system through organizations that are front for Peking University (PKU).

They are indoctrinating teaches, students and others into their brand of communism using Confucius.

Looking out to the mid term future, unless the Chi-com economy buckles under it’s own weight, we are in for a world of problems with them.

I watched a local program on the University of Dayton talking about building a university in guess where. China. As I’m sitting with my mouth hanging open they’re talking about sending English teachers over there to educate them in English. Miami University actively courting them too because they pay double the tuition. There has been several great articles from a young woman working for a liberal rag. I think I’ll try to convince her to be a FReeper. I don’t even think she knows she’s a conservative, but she is.

Yup.....they are buying credibility and a sort of faux loyalty, (same way they do it domestically)

They threaten news organizations when they don’t like the news about them or the tone, and their most recent conquest was Bloomberg Financial news. I would not have known about it except that a lead reporter quit over it, and wrote a opus column that I read. (happened last year if I recall)

Who cares.

The fact remains that the unions share the burden of their jobs going overseas.
