Meteorologist Tim Buckley of WFMY-TV writes on Facebook:
All 50 states have low temperatures BELOW freezing tonight. (Monday night) Yes, even Hawaii. Tall mountain peaks there regularly get below freezing, and even get snow. This typically happens a few times during winter, but is very rare this early in the season. Pretty neat!

Dem Brudda’s in Hono must be freezing dem nuts off.
Where in the world is Albert Gore Junior?
Um.. My wife and I live in Hawaii and as I sit at my desk my desk thermometer tells me it’s a comfortable 70 degrees here with the windows open. All fifty states??
Ahh!!!! Global warming, oh, wait, um. Ahhhh!!!! Climate change!!! </arms flailing wildly in the air>
Is Algore’s head exploding?
Will get to 77 here in my part of CA, with clear blue sunny sky’s, and a mild on shore sleepy breeze.
Yes, it is about 23 here. Had to call the owner of the house I am in. The heat is broken. Is a whole 56 in here. Texted my daughter that if I coud not get in touch with her that I was going to,my house. It has problems but the heat works. Looked at the weather forecast earlier and it will be 71 this weekend.
That would be fifty of the fifty-three states.
No, because cold weather proves Global Warming...
Just like public disapproval of liberal policies is proof that those policies are superior.
Posting Hawaii at 31 degrees is a very misleading stretch.
Yes, well, Hawaii is in Asia and must be the 51st of the 53 states.
I suspect he picked a weather station high up on 13,796 feet Mauna Kea to make his point in the story about nationwide cold.
The map does not say it all. It is 72 degrees here and headed for 78 today.
My refrigerator freezer is below freezing so I guess technically you could say the map is correct.
You're going to have to look upward and probably eastward.
Right now at Maxwell Telescope on Mauna Kea it is 4°C and got down to 1°C, so I could see that another weather station would have reported below freezing.
I had the same thought so I googled it. That is indeed where they recorded that temp, Mauna Kea.
Don't you just love California, especially when you look at a map like that.
That map says quite a lot, and for more stats, go here:

From the link:
“Tuesday morning, America ‘as a whole’ awoke to the coldest it has been in November since 1976 — 38 years ago. The Lower-48 or CONUS spatially average temperature plummeted overnight to only 19.4°F typical of mid-winter not November 18th! “
“An astounding 226-million Americans will experience at or below freezing temperatures (32°F) on Tuesday as well — if you venture outdoors.”
“More than 85% of the surface area of the Lower-48 reached or fell below freezing Tuesday morning. All 50-states saw at or below freezing temperatures on Tuesday. “
So what does December have in store? January?
