Messy drive in Fairbanks this afternoon. Ice fog frosts the streets. Temp climbs up to 32.

But, we, for the most part, are used to it and prepared.

I was much younger, driving from Las Cruces to ABQ, it was light snow and we were taking it easy.

I got passed by a jeep going about 70. I was doing, 45-50.

Came up upon him, on his side in the median about 3 miles after he passed.

I’ve noticed that here in Silicon Valley, too. Prius drivers are the biggest aholes on the road followed by all BMW and Audi drivers. And we are seriously infested with them.

I remember driving to work in N. Canton, OH — wind shrieking, snow piling up in the road cuts and blowing sideways. Then the guard at work asked “WHAT are YOU doing here??? We’re closed!”

After years of driving in Western blizzards, I couldn’t imagine a little blow like that keeping people from work. Besides, who’d ever heard of a Snow Day for work? That only keeps little kids out of school, not adults.

Wussy Ohioans!

Temperatures starting falling like a rock this afternoon here in NW Iowa. Dropped 35 degrees. Howling northwest wind. I don’t see any temps in the forecast above freezing now, day or night, for the next ten days.

I forgot one of the cars that are often driven by the angry left, the Honda Fit.

About 225 miles west of Golden, CO ... on the west side of the Rockies it's clear and chilly ... low 40’s. No snow expected until late week ... then only flurries.

The Ferguson agitators will probably have gone home by spring thaw.

I’d love to see them freeze their butts off. So sick of this, I’ve become very intolerant.

Right now my temperature meter says 7F is the outside temp and 72F is the inside temp with the wood burning stove cranked up. I hauled wood inside before the storm.

It's nice here in SE Georgia.

Of course we have three months of Air Conditioning and nine months of open windows. Our official average annual snow fall is zero inches.

The storm hitting the lower 48’s was originated in the Bering sea. Today in Anchorage we hit 45. Beautiful weather here! The storm bypassed mainland Alaska.

That reminds me of years ago, when I lived in S. Carolina, for extra pocket money I'd do dealer transfers for the local Ford dealer.

I had to go pick up a car in Myrtle Beach one day when the weather closed in and brought about 4 inches of snow across the whole lowcountry. I remembered a trick from my father (who grew up in Kansas City) where, if you didn't have chains, you just deflated your tires down to 20psi and kept your speed to around 40-45. Other than the car getting a little squirrely on an offramp, I had no problems.

The real fun started when I got on to Hwy 17 coming into Myrtle Beach as the whole roadway was covered in black ice.

And I swear that every car in the ditches (and there were many) had New York plates.

Here in northern Nevada we nearly hit 70 over the weekend, and it looks like 50s for the rest of the week.

13 to 21 for valleys of northern Nevada tonight and tomorrow night. A little warmer in the mountains...25.
