The State Legislative Landslide
American Thinker ^ | November 8, 2014 | Bruce Walker

There are ninety-eight partisan state legislative chambers in our nation. (Nebraska has a unicameral and nonpartisan legislature.) Not all state legislative chambers had elections this November, but of the seventy-seven state legislative chambers that did have elections, Republicans gained seats in sixty-one, while losing seats in only ten.

This translated into shifting control of ten legislative chambers from Democrat to Republican: the State Senate in Washington, Colorado, Nevada, Maine, and New York and the State House of Representatives in New Mexico, Nevada, Minnesota, West Virginia, and New Hampshire. Republican power in state legislatures is at the highest point in a century, both in the number of chambers controlled and also in the number of Republicans in state legislature – important facts that tend to be submerged in higher profile races.

In spite of the magnified influence of the media and liberals on the Upper West Side, there are far more conservatives in America than there are liberals.

GOP majority in 66 of 99 State Houses (NEB has only 1)... now let’s see what they do with it.

Lots of things happen at the state level.

In recent years, cutbacks in abortion, cutbacks in employee union rights, targeted tax policies to encourage economic growth, have all come out of the states, not out of Washington, DC.

Don’t under estimate the power of the states to set the debate and shape policy in our country. Not everything we want to see happen will come out of Washington, DC. Republicans at the state level are doing some good work, but it’s off the radar of the New York/Washington media axis.

I can’t believe this democrat/marxist creep Obama is going to become a dictator and give amnesty to illegals without Congress. Obama has no authority to do this . Jail him for this crime

The American people gave this Obama creep and his stupid socialist party the democrat a whipping of historical proportions , so encompassing was the Republican victory that Republicans now control 69 out 99 state legislatures. this was a rejection of obama, his marxist policies and a rejection of the democrat party . And middle America did this not the drug addicts and rabid liberals , union thugs, communists, illegals, criminals, and immigrants who are the democrats’ coalition.. middle America chose the Republican party

but the dictator Obama ignores the American people’s mandate and instead says “ill do what i want and grant amnesty to illegals “. and it does this when there are no jobs in the over regulated obama economy. this monster has to be stopped

I hope Ted Cruz can stop him in time

Ted Cruz for President in 2016

You also have to have the state supreme court on your side, so they won't find conservative reforms to be unconstitutional.

In NC, judges are elected in supposedly nonpartisan elections, but the judges are partisan nonetheless (like on the US Supreme Court). In Tuesday's election we kept a Repub majority on the NC state supreme court.

Very good news for a potential Article V Convention. Write your state congressman and senator about an Article V Amendment Convention. Most of them start a new session after the first of the year.

If not sure how, search FR for Article V and see the various links.

It’s called passing genuine SCOTUS certified Voter registration laws (across America) to defeat Obama-Holder’s attempt to destroy the American Republic via illegal immigrant vote fraud ....

Was hoping Republicans would capture House in Kentucky, thereby ushering in Right to Work. Not to be. Even split. They have the Senate, but doubt they can get RTW legislation through now.

It appears to have happened at the county level too.

I live in a pretty conservative area but most of the democrats in office in the county were removed and are openly saying “We got our butts handed to us”.

Article V Convention of the States. It’s in the Constitution, and now is the time.

Or do you really trust Washington, DC to do the right thing?

It's amazing how everything is lining up for this. Even the threat of millions of invading looters helps because it forces America to take action before those Illegal votes destroy this chance. Perhaps this is meant to be.
