DECHANTSKIRCHEN, Austria, Oct. 9 (UPI) -- Officials at an Austrian elementary school said yoga lessons were stricken from the curriculum due to a complaint from a parent who cited "religious reasons." Ingrid Karner, who taught yoga to students once a month during gym classes at the school in Dechantskirchen, told the Kleine Zeitung newspaper the classes had been popular with students and their parents until one parent's complaint led to yoga being banned from the curriculum.
"All I heard was that according to the Bible yoga should not be allowed and it would lead the children in the wrong direction," Karner said.

Yoga exercises originated with spiritual practices related to Hinduism and Buddhism. There are several different forms of yoga being practiced in the modern day, some with more religious connections than others.

I disagree that it’s worse than yoga, but, yes, the Global Warming Religion should be banned also.
Bad. I hate that one complainer has that kind of control. I also hate knee-jerk reactions to anything. Suppose I object to the Bible and am the only parent to do so and it gets yanked from the school library? (There are other examples).
But thinking that one mouthy parent getting something yanked as a good thing is very dangerous regardless of how we may feel about it. Obviously, there are ridiculous extreme examples that could be posited but this isn’t one.
Be ASSURED that what is used against others we may not like WILL be used against us one day.

Which illustrates that a government is either for Christ or against him, there is no “middle ground”.
Same goes for people, according to the Bible, as Christ commands obedience to his commandments for those who love him.
Christ left no middle ground in any of his teaching; one is either for him or against him.
If a government is pluralistic and allows for pagan/heathen religions - they are all religions that hate Christ and reject him, thus such a government has then institutionalized the rejection of Jesus Christ.
One can not serve two masters.

Agreed. I hate it too. Administrators like this need to grow a spine and respond to these solitary complainers thus:
"Your complaint has been noted. Now, go get 51% of the parents who have children in this school to agree with you and then come back to see me. Then we will discuss appropriate measures. Until then, you are free to complain but do not expect us to react to your complaints in the manner you suggest. Please, have a great day."

Wonder how much this parent contributes to the school?

“You want to complain ... look at these shoes ... I’ve only had them three weeks and the heels are worn right through.”
These poor children and their parents will now suffer due to no more yoga once a month in PE at school. Or maybe they can purchase a yoga video and do yoga at home.

Way off topic but complaining about shoes reminds me of an old joke;
A young woman decides to become a nun and she is taken in to a convent in a remote area.
During her first meeting with the Mother Superior, she is told that she must take a vow of silence and follow all rules to the letter. However, she will have a meeting such as this once per year at which time she will be allowed to speak two words.
The first year goes by and when the young nun meets with the Mother Superior, she receives an update on her progress and is then allowed to speak her two words.
She says, "Shoes tight."
The Mother Superior tells her that she will make sure she gets a pair of better fitting shoes then dismisses the young nun.
Another year goes by and at her second meeting things proceed pretty much as the first. When she is allowed to speak her two words, the nun says, "Bed lumpy."
The Mother Superior assures the young nun that a better mattress will be installed for her.
Life goes on as it does and in another year the young nun meets with the Mother Superiorand when her time comes to speak her two words she says, "I quit."
The Mother Superior responds, "Well, I must say that this is somewhat of a relief because you have done nothing but bitch and complain since you got here!"
You mean somewhere somehow Christians are taking a stand?
nope you’re right. yoga like tai chi is an exercise program that allows for some moving meditation. all religions have some form of meditation.
I’d ban it too
