What? Isn’t some minimum wage guy with a pressure washer enough?
“The Obama Administration is sending 4000 U.S. troops to the Ebola epidemic regions in Africa.”
These aren’t regular troops. They are the Commissioned Corps of the US Public Health Service, medical personnel holding the rank of Naval officers. And some regular military to protect and transport them.
Keep in mind the lunar tetrad going on. The second of the four is Monday night.
The recent conflict between Israel and Hamas, the explosive growth of ISIS/ISIL, and the Ebola outbreak is just the warm up acts of bigger things to come!
I’m thinking that if anyone who was exposed gets it people will really start paying attention and start insisting that they not let people from affected nations enter the US or else have a 21 day quarantine.
I sure as heck hope so.
Meanwhile, I wish there was more info available on the Ent. Virus D68, it’s in 42 states, and I haven’t heard anything on the news about our county. I know at least one person had it, but she’s an adult who works in St. Louis.
If kids get it here, they’ll likely go to a St. Louis hospital. They do report how many are currently at the children’s hospital there, but not where they are from.
I have a grand daughter and great grand daughter in school, so I’d like to be able to track it better.
First Obama, Now Ebola.
The trend is that the diseases coming out of Africa are less and less harmful to Americans with each new strain.
Not a lot will happen. At least in the long term.
A year down the road, not much change.
I think the current incident in Dallas will likely fizzle out; however the more isolated incidents of this type, the greater the chance of one becoming a focal point for an outbreak. If we fail to control the source (West Africa) and see a million cases in Africa by the end of winter, then I am sure we will see a true pandemic, with significant impact in the US.
Number of deaths will scores, not hundreds, and government intrusion on “the innocent” will be ramped up to prevent future incidents. Travel restrictions, invasive questioning at random checkpoints, etc.
“I see dead people”
We will know by Christmas what to expect from then on.
.
Beyond ridiculous. Remember SARS? H1N1 (Swine Flu)? The "Bird" Flu? We were all gonna DIE!!! Yeah, except that we didn't, and the predictions of infection and death rates were insanely overblown, to say the least. And all of those are more contagious than Ebola, unless it's transmission avenues have changed significantly.
If it can't wipe out densely populated cities and towns in Africa within a couple of years (it's been here and there in Africa since 1976, at least), it sure as hell isn't going to kill HALF of the U.S. population, much less the world, in 15 months.
People need to use their brains, and stop hyperventilating over this stuff. It is not an airborne contagion, which seriously limits its ability to spread. Is it awful? Yes. Is it fatal? 50-90% of the time, yes. Is it going to kill millions in this country or even worldwide in the next year, or even the next 10 years? No freaking way.
Can you imagine how embarrassed you and I will be though, if 75% of the world is dead by next December, and we have to eat crow?
Boy, would we feel silly.
Just wait until some schoolkids come down with Ebola in Dallas.
Really! Every Ebola victim will subsequently vote Democrat. They been doing it in Chicago for decades.
The morons in DC think this virus is an answered prayer for their $120 Trillion dollar entitlement problem!
Nothing will happen until the disease breaks out in DC. They only care about themselves r.e. their exemption to CommieCare.
75% of the world’s population dead by December of next year?!
If that’s ultimately the case and I survive it, the world would be like the Garden of Eden meets Disneyland.
I’m a long time survivalist, so you can imagine that I’m not averse to being among the last survivors of whatever the latest end of the world thing is.
Bingo. Winner winner chicken dinner. With the midterm elections so close this smacks of a dangerous but elaborate vote suppression scheme IMHO.
