(Vanity) So...What do YOU think the outcome of the Ebola scare will be?

I have a sneaking suspicion that thousands of people with Ebola are crowding onto airplanes right now to come to the USA, because they know they will be treated here. They won’t be treated in the Third World, which has no viable infrastructure. No clean water to drink or keep your body clean, very few doctors or real hospitals. Not even soap, disinfectants and hand sanitizers that we take for granted here. And Obama is telling them to come on in, our borders are wide open. And they will overwhelm us with their diseases, just like the ones that are killing our children in schools all over the USA.
Every country in Europe has banned flights into their countries from plague-infested countries in Africa, but not the USA. This isn’t incompetence. This is evil, malicious intent. We are under attack. And if we don’t do something about it very soon, America in deep $#!+.

One other thing though...in 1918 the population was different (both in numbers and in controllability)...add to that the extended “incubation period”...and we might be looking at more like 3 months of limited contact to be sure this thing is shut down. Even then I would expect pockets of risk (like “hot spots” when a forest fire is under control).

Who knows but it will be death by PC if nothing is done to stop the influx of the sick from African countries!

The reason that I'm overly concerned about ebola at this point is the following. As evidenced by the following two links, regardless of the way that ebola is spreading in Africa, it is evidently not as contageous as other common diseases.

Also, from a non-medical perspective, there is at least one crude, but relatively effictive way to treat ebola.

FR: Doctor treats Ebola with HIV drug in Liberia — seemingly successfully

On the other hand, ebola has a significant mortality rate.

This song comes to mind....

“And we’re gonna ride,we’re gonna ride
Ride like the one eyed jack of diamonds
With the devil close behind
We’re gonna ride”

Cloward-Piven with a twist of Ebola. Previously the groundwork was laid with obamacare so no one can be denied treatment. Now they flood the system with greviously ill people. The system collapses. People demand action. The dems promise a worker’s paradise and shove the country irretrievably into socialism.

I have to say, I'm not one for conspiracies - although they sometimes entertain me - like space aliens or bigfoot .....but ever since the insane assclown posse and their leader captain jug ears have held us captive for the last 6 years nothing surprises me anymore.

If there is anything that could bring on martial law it would be an outbreak of a deadly pathogen. Just think how they court ordered that family to stay home - for one family that seems reasonable and we can rationalize it - but if this was wide spread, whole neighborhoods could be put on lock down, then towns.... and then it becomes everyone on lockdown under threat of deadly force. It sounds like a hollywood movie but reality can be stranger than fiction.

And now here is another nightmare scenario for your contemplation: Let’s say that Al Qaeda’s frontmen, Isis, decide to infect one of their dumb young inbred “holy warriors” with Ebola. They get him a passport and easy access into the USA. They can do it because they’ve got plenty of money and influence, what with all the Mideast oil fields that Obama allowed them to seize. And Isis gives him tickets to a major concert or high-profile football game in a large-capacity stadium. Now he has the ability to infect thousands of Americans, who then have the ability to infect millions.
Are you scared yet?

That has been my thought since this mess started. Plus, they do not care how many people die. I really think they think the more, the better.

I want to believe that we'll catch every single case that comes to America in time to prevent an Africa situation. But realistically that is asking for perfection from imperfect people and an imperfect system.

It's coming sooner or later. And I think it's going to be bad. Think bubonic plague bad. Barring any miracles I don't see any way around it.

No strong hunch on this, could be another bird flu over-hyped non-event where a few thousand more die in Africa, a couple of dozen elsewhere then an effective cure is found, no big deal. Or it could get really bad. We should take no chances and quarantine the high-risk nations until they see a return to lower infection levels. I am personally going to avoid having sex with baboons for the foreseeable future, I know it’s a sacrifice but hey, whatcha gonna do?

It won’t kill us all. Just most.

At least my vote will count more them.

Just in normal times our hospital gets full. It was a year ago that my MIL had pneumonia and they couldn’t admit her because the hospital was full. The hospitals in El Paso are regularly full too so any epidemic will soon overwhelm the medical community.

A lockdown/ daytime curfew/ quarantine for three months might be better. You want an emergency of this sort to be a one time thing, you want to extinguish the disease on the first try.

I figure that hotspots will be similar to where it cropped up now, a community with a high population of immigrants both legal and illegal from west Africa. People who have a habit of living on the margin of the law are going to skirt curfews and quarantines as well.

The real culprits in my mind are the politicians who have been enabling illegal immigration for decades, and who have promoting the immigration flood from the third world. Ebola and jihad are just two of the plagues that non-existent borders will bring us.

If we get 30-50, that is a bad omen. That’s a pretty good little outbreak. With 30-50 families. And by that time folks will be too scared to go to the hospital. That’s when things get sketchy.
