(Vanity) So...What do YOU think the outcome of the Ebola scare will be?

I read where the doctor and two assistants in Dallas that treated the Ebola guy are gone for 21 days for quarantine. No reason to think that won’t happen again and again - that will put a big dent in the health care equation.

As long as there is no ‘reservoir animal’ in the U.S. then Ebola’s ability to flourish is limited to human to human contact.

I don't think we can know, yet, whether there is a reservoir animal here.

What we do know is that rats and roaches in slums crawl from apartment to apartment. If one infected individual in the projects vomits on his floor without cleaning it thoroughly, vermin will spread it to the neighbors, and someone will touch a contaminated surface and then his face or a cut. Repeat. What we also know is that some gay men are promiscuous. Once it hits the gay community, we are going to see bad results. It's contagious through sex early in the fever and after recovery for seven weeks after symptoms disappear.

Even without a reservoir animal in which Ebola can hide without human hosts, it will be hard to eradicate here if it gets out of control in the first place.

And now here is another nightmare scenario for your contemplation: Let’s say that Al Qaeda’s frontmen, Isis, decide to infect one of their dumb young inbred “holy warriors” with Ebola. They get him a passport and easy access into the USA.

Get him a passport? They have US citizens fighting for them who have US passports. And why go to a football game when they can ride the subways making an effort to spread the disease (details intentionally omitted)? I don't see an organized conspiracy, our enemies are also shockingly stupid, just small groups taking advantage of an existing situation.

Obama is sending 4000 military personnel to Ebola infected areas. The probability that at least a few, and probably more, will be infected and return to the U.S. is high.

This is actually a weak strain of Ebola. Recent headline:

“Ebola cases top 7,000 in West Africa: UN”

The more serious strain liquified entire bodies in two days according to a specialist Hannity talked with.

BUT ... we are talking about Obama, whose plan is now visible for all to see — to stupid to be stupid. With this creep in charge, we’re doomed. If he is pressured into making changes, we’ll be much better off. It’s as simple as that.

Just look at this last escapade. If it weren’t for mass media, it WOULD have been a disaster. Obama-Care FAILED UTTERLY to prepare these govt-controlled healthcare workers.

Healthcare has been demoralized, and its standards ARE ERODING!

“All totally unnecessary. Should have banned the flights from the region, implemented screening techniques here, canceled all visas from the region, Ellis Island style quarantine etc.”

Absolutely, and to keep leftists from taking us out of context anymore, you mean to stop “non-essential” flights, right? I mean, we will send, as you say, ‘heavily screened’ and ‘auto-quarantined’ essential flights in and out.

“We also have tons of wild conspiracies.”

Why shouldn’t we? This was too stupid to be stupid. Which means, it wasn’t stupid. So what does that leave us with?

“Death, martial law, NO TRANSPARENCY, NO SECURITY FOR AMERICA, BUT Obola’s and the EXEMPT’s patents on Ebola vaccines.... will skyrocket.”

I suspect that was the plan. But I pray that this abrupt wakeup call spoiled it for him.

“I think Africa gets hammered but it doesn’t get too bad in the USA.”

Other nations will be banning flights at an exponential rate. And if we keep going ‘loosey-goosey’ on flights, it won’t take much for outbreaks to run rampant. If that happens, WE get sealed off too. “Collapse the system.”

“The probability of some of [our troops there] contracting Ebola, infecting fellow troops and bringing Ebola back to the U.S. is extremely high.”

I think these commercial flights are a much higher risk. If Team 0 tries to force them to have loose quarantine policies, our fighting forces will leak it in a heartbeat.

Actually, if done correctly, our heroes overseas will be a tremendous help out there. The only doubt I have is in their Alinski-in-Chief. He would love nothing better than to sabotage our military.

“If we have a sudden explosion in the number of cases we will need about a month of very limited travel and a ban on group meetings in order to let the disease burn itself out.”

But that is assuming that there’s no animal carrier as you pointed out in yourself:

“As long as there is no ‘reservoir animal’ in the U.S.”

Many bats eat flies. And vampire bats suck the blood of animals such as cattle. One fly on vomit, and there’s at least one slight risk of a long term problem.

Here’s another take on Silver Stallion that I’ve enjoyed. It’s not anyone you’ve likely heard of but the acoustic arrangement is different but very nice, and they really felt the song.

“I think the Feds’ meaning of “containment” is to keep the public in the dark about what’s going on. I think people are going to start to vanish without explanation, never to be heard from again.Meanwhile, we’re going to be told that their swift and expert actions stopped the problem with the first victim.

That strategy will get them through the month and the elections, then after that... well, who cares what happens after that.”

Death on a massive scale, primarily affecting the poor, elderly, & children.

The poor because they wont be able to buy the limited lifesaving care required, & because they will believe Obama & the MSM right up to the moment they die from the disease.

The elderly are doomed under Obamacare, & will fall to back of the care line. Only rich old folks will be able to buy adequate care.

The children will be the primary spreaders of the disease because they are ignorant of hygiene & in close proximity to other children at school. Eventually, the schools will have to close until the epidemic is over.

We’re all gonna die, just half of us sooner than
ezpoected.

Perhaps we’ll get lucky, but if this gets going,
we will see how the thin verneer of civilization
can quickly vanish.

The reservoir animals in Africa are some Pteropodidae fruit bats along with some primates and a small antelope. Ebola gets passed along to the human population when these animals get handled and eaten as ‘bush meat’.

Ebola researchers looked for a long time to find the carrier species in Africa. One of those CDC scientists used to post here at FR and she predicted it would be found in fruit bats, which it subsequently was.

Had rats been Ebola carriers that would have been easy to confirm. They’re not. Three species of Pteropodidae fruit bats are where Ebola lives between outbreaks.

Roaches- you’re into wild speculation now. This isn’t an insect borne virus.

Ebola scares people enough without adding imaginary threats to the mix.

“Obama is sending 4000 military personnel to Ebola infected areas”

These are medical officers of the Commissioned Corps. If Ebola can be suppressed in west Africa then we won’t have the constant threat of it coming here.
