BALTIMORE (WJZ/CBS NEWS)—The Baltimore bullet has been arrested for driving under the influence in Baltimore City early Tuesday morning. Michael Phelps was arrested around 1:40 a.m. in the Fort McHenry Tunnel on I-95 by Maryland Transportation Authority police. Follow CBS Baltimore on Twitter for the latest. MDTA released the following statement: “A MDTA police officer was operating stationary radar on southbound I-395 leaving Baltimore City when a White 2014 Land Rover entered the radar’s area of influence at excessive speed (84 mph in a 45 mph zone). The officer followed the vehicle onto northbound I-95, through the tunnel and initiated an enforcement stop just beyond the tunnel’s toll plaza. Mr. Phelps was identified as the driver by his driver’s license and appeared to be under the influence. He was unable to perform satisfactorily a series of standard field sobriety tests. Mr. Phelps was cooperative throughout the process.” Phelps was arrested and charged with DUI, excessive speed and crossing double lane lines within the Fort McHenry Tunnel on I-95 in Baltimore. He was later released. This makes Phelps’ second DUI arrest.

Ryan Lochte says he has a driver, and Phelps has no excuse not to get one, too. He can afford one.

This makes Phelps’ second DUI arrest.
He needs 16 more to equal his gold medals.

“I recognize the seriousness of this mistake,” Phelps said in 2004 before a judge and courtroom of more than 100 spectators. “I’ve learned from this mistake and will continue learning from this mistake for the rest of my life.”

I’ve learned from this mistake and will continue learning from this mistake for the rest of my life.

Fixed

“He needs 16 more to equal his gold medals.”

Gold medals in swimming are ridiculously inflated. Every miniscule variation in has its own medal.

It is like different Superbowls for passing touchdowns, running touchdowns, hail marys, trick plays, first downs, 4th down conversions, 3rd down conversions, you get my drift.

2nd time. Freakin’ jackass. In the 1980s a friend of mine drove drunk and killed a guy riding a motorcycle. He did a few years in jail got out and eventually killed himself by blowing his heart out with a gun from the guilt. I would rather walk naked 100 miles through a blizzard than drive drunk, if you kill someone jail will be the least of your problems.

Call a cab.

I live in a small town with no cab service. The wife works for a local towing company. They have a regular customer that twice a year gets blotto and calls for a tow truck to get home.

I have always hated him so this is great news to me. Just glad he didn't kill anybody with his typical stupidity. He is probably one of the worst people on the planet. It was so repulsive having to hear the orgasmic nonsense in Maryland for years about this creep. Hopefully once and for all we can get rid of him from the news at least.

“A MDTA police officer was operating stationary radar...”

Okay, so is this police good or police bad?

A towing company where I am advertises themselves as an alternative to a taxi to avoid DUI. They have a flat rate and you don’t have top go back the next day to get your car.

“I don’t know what it is with him.”

Oh I know what it is-—he has a drinking problem, big time.

He needs to pay the price—he could kill someone the next time.

he’s guilty of increasing the probability of getting into an accident... or so we’re told.

what percent of all car accidents involve alcohol?

meanwhile, if it’s about arresting someone with a higher probability of incident... shouldn’t we arrest all men right now, as the vast majority of crimes are committed by men
