Psychologists have shown humans are poor judges of their own abilities, from sense of humour to grammar. Those worst at it are the worst judges of all.
You're pretty smart right? Clever, and funny too. Of course you are, just like me. But wouldn't it be terrible if we were mistaken? Psychologists have shown that we are more likely to be blind to our own failings than perhaps we realise. This could explain why some incompetent people are so annoying, and also inject a healthy dose of humility into our own sense of self-regard.

Yep, Obama is a bright and shining example, along with all the other progressives (communists)
Being blind to your own ignorance might just be similar to the person who is never at fault or never accepts blame upon self. I’m wondering if it isn’t a subconscious defense mechanism. Just wondering as usual.
Humility should be had by all since we are the creation and ALL glory is the Creator’s alone. Maybe we would be less blind to our uniqueness if we had confidence in our Creator to supply us with the gifts we need to do His will. Walking on water isn’t rocket science.
Funny thing about intelligence, there are many different kinds of intelligence. This study was about particular types. It is possible that 90% of people truly are above average in SOME sort of intelligence. What are you good at? Are you smart enough to compensate for not having perfect math skills?
PLUS if you don’t use it you lose it. I was very good in algebra but not geometry. Lost it all over the decades except for accounting. Business math, good. Engineering, bad. Not creative, either. I can replicate and am mechanically inclined but not an ounce of creativity.
I am an artist and the older I get, the better I get. I am 74, I have been drawing and painting for 30 years. I hope I have 30 more years to improve my technique even more. What little math I did learn is rapidly going away. Oh well, I have a calculator . :)
Whenever I start feeling like I’m smart God has a way of teaching me differently. He’s very creative (and I’m so dumb).
There are only three kinds of people in the world, those who know math and those who don't.
I believe the term is; 'special'. ;-)
Barrack Obama, 2008
Yep, I’m that kind!
