Best Cartoon Ever?

Posted on 08/19/2014 7:48:52 PM PDT by MNDude

Most of us probably don't watch as many cartoons as when were kids, but there's a few that we still love.

What is your favorite cartoon(s) of all time?

Old Jonny Quest was some good stuff all around. Plenty of machine guns and other hardware.

The short lived Planet Of The Apes was fairly good for the short run it had.

The 80s GI Joe RAH is a favorite of mine despite the often preposterous physics and some really bizarre plots.

Song of the South.
***********************
Always one of my favorites since I saw it as a youngster.

It’s an animated film, though; not really a cartoon.

It’s a shame that PC caused the movie to be banned because that deprived a generation or so to miss out on some great Uncle Remus stories.

Bugs Bunny “Hillbilly Hare” is my all time favorite & second favorite was any Hillbilly Bears. Pa Bear was hilarious. Newspaper cartoons all time favorite? Pogo “we has met the enemy” and second one would be Calvin and Hobbs. Funniest Calvin & Hobbs was Hey Mom where’s the water hose {not shown in newspapers} lol.

I never saw a movie about Pecos Bill and didn’t know one had been made.

I still have the 78rpm album from 1948 (when I was 6), with Roy Rogers and the Sons of the Pioneers.

Song of the South can be viewed in it’s entirety on YouTube (or could a year or so ago). My young daughter and a couple of her friends watched it. They couldn’t see anything even slightly racist about it- after all, the only bad people in it are two white boys!

What is your favorite cartoon(s) of all time?

The tops have to be the classic Bugs Bunny cartoons. "What's Opera Doc?", "Rabbit Seasoning", "Duck Amuck", and "One Froggy Evening" being of my particular favorites.

Disney put out one about 30 minutes long. There are some clips from it on YouTube. It stars Roy Rogers and the Sons of the Pioneers.

An interesting cover of the Jonny Quest theme as well as the Stop that Pigeon theme was done by the rather peculiar, self-described “country-fed punkabilly” or “psychobilly” trio called “Reverend Horton Heat”.
