Did a sea turtle hug a surfer who rescued it from fishing nets? Call it what you will, but the moment caught by a GoPro camera on the stunning video shows there was a connection there.
When kite surfer Cameron Dietrich and Colin Sutton spotted the distressed sea turtle off the Mexican coast, they quickly dived in the ocean to try to rescue it.
When I saw the turtle tangled up I jumped in the water and began to cut it free

Let’s see.
Been stuck in the net a long time.
Hmmm food!
Will it fit in my mouth?
No.
Bye food.
That’s a very nice story. Sometimes the Disney way of talking to the animals is the right way. Yes, I do think the turtle was grateful. I actually did’nt realize having one flipper tangled up would put him in danger, but maybe it does. Maybe his ability to swim and dive for food is impeded.
Thanks for sharing that!
I can also see how it could’ve ended up drowning.
Several years ago there was a viral video of a young whale jumping out of the water after it was freed from a tangle of fishing line. It put on a show for over an hour.
In Hawaii, the Honu is the tiger shark's favorite meal, along with tourists, especially white meat. They know how to swim down and avoid the shark.......
I have an animals do the craziest things story. Went to Five Guys today and saw a squirrel that was sprawled out on one of their outdoor tables. He looked like he was playing dead, but his eyes were open and he moved slightly now and then. At first, I thought he was spread out like that because someone had fed him too many Five Guys peanuts, but then I watched him and realized he had developed an act to get food out of the customers.
Whenever someone went into the store, he hopped up on the table and got all sprawled out. When someone came out the door, he hopped down from the table, ran to the door, looked up and waited at their feet for food.
He was a mooch. Sprawling out on the table was a ploy to get some sympathetic patron to go get him some peanuts. It worked pretty well. I saw people get up and put a peanut out for him. One guy threw a handful of peanuts and the squirrel would take them one by one to an area of trees and bushes. He probably had his winter stash there. He had himself quite a little gig going there.
At first I thought what a lazy mooch of a squirrel. Then I realized that he had developed the performance on his own, executed it successfully, picked up his pay and even put something away for the future. God had a lesson for all of us right there in this little squirrel.
He will be arrested by the in environ-Eco brown shirts by the end of the weekend, for illegally touching a turtle .
Sounds about right...
Don’t know about the sea turtle, but that show host sure seems “gay” in his mannerisms.
I should have gone to 5 guys. I tried Red Robin instead.
There was no hug in the short video, but that was a slick excuse for them to deliver an ad for World wildlife fund.
Funny - while out in the sea trying to kill tuna with a spear, man saves a turtle.
A friend of mine cut loose a fish that had been hooked and then just tied (with the hook in its mouth) to a piling. After she took the hook out of its mouth and let it go, it swam around in our area, jumping out of the water a couple of times, before swimming away. Not sure if it was grateful for being let go or if it was just testing to make sure it wasn't tied up any longer.
i have a cute animal story too. came home today and there was a large rat gasping for air in the driveway. i guess he had just eaten the bait i put under the house. then he died, and i put him in the garbage can.
it was a good day
Sweet.

And when the poor subsistence fisherman who left it there alive so it would be fresh for dinner came back to collect it...
No subsistence fishermen in this area -- they would have been over on the bridge. This was a private fishing dock in front of this little 8-room inn. I suspect it was some tourist kids who had hooked the fish and just left it there.
