Genius Idea: New Dating Site For Braniacs
Daily Caller ^ | 06/25/2014 | Julia Dent

Mensa and Match.com have teamed up to create a new dating site for people whose IQ is in the 98th percentile.

On Mensa Match, brainiacs can find people to date with the same intelligence level, according to the Daily Mail. The site was inspired by a survey where 80 percent of American singles said dating people on the same intelligence level was “very important.” 89 percent also said they would like to be with someone “considerably better educated or more intellectual.”

“Why do we want a smart partner? Because intelligence is correlated with many benefits, including: higher income; sense of humor; creativity; social skills; coordination; and problem solving. These are sexy,” said chief scientific advisor for Match.com Dr. Helen Fisher.

“Money can buy a sexy evening on the town. People everywhere gravitate to smart lovers, because an intelligent partner comes with a host of sexy perks.”

Indeed. It gets old after a while being the smartest guy in any room I walk into. But I manage...

They got one for finding someone of the same honesty level?

My wife and I both qualify for MENSA due to test scores in the past. We met on the personals on Craigslist and it didn’t cost us a dime.

Above average intelligence, say 130 or so I can understand, these are bright people who are still sufficiently anchored in the day to day to perceive the world as the world perceives them. Get much beyond 160 or so and “cerebral” is about the best you can do for an adjective. It’s the rare human being who has an extremely high IQ, is athletic, sociable to the point of a winning personality, sexually attractive, etc., the stereotype has a factual basis.

Braniacs? People who eat a lot of fiber? (Pretty sure that should be brainiacs)

Nonsense. The last thing I want in a woman is someone who overthinks everything the way I do. Besides, I’m looking for somebody who wants me for my body and not just my mind.

Bill Gates and Paul Allen are examples that support your theory.

Really smart people aren’t interested in sex. This site is bogus.

I’m guessing it’s going to be packed with liberals who think that going to expensive colleges and smoking pot with outright Marxists makes them smart.

Fit that description to a tee..don’t think I’m all that unusual.

BTW you forgot to mention humble.

I went to a Mensa meeting once. Never so bored in my life. The single men in there just stayed on their side of the room, like a 6th grade dance.

To get them to talk was like pulling teeth. Very nice guys, but they just didn’t talk.

Dating is so difficult, I hate it too.

A high school friend of mine aced the SAT and went on to a Fulbright Scholarship to Yale. He wanted friends because he was supposed to have them in order to be regarded as successful, as well as for the benefit of future social advantage. So, he went through the proper motions to acquire friends and keep them. He wanted to play sports and did, but was a benchwarmer because he was not particularly well-coordinated. Relating to things that mattered to girls was a real puzzle for him but he studied that most of all, and did not succeed particularly well until college. He wasn’t an altogether bad looking guy I don’t suppose, but worrying about his appearance did not occur to him until he realized that girls were not interested, and he never could quite get the look or the approach down pat. It was like an alien dance or something for him.
