That's not a gaffe, it's an explanation.
A somewhat sensible, if not tongue in cheek one at that.
The point is that he has the b@lls to say what he thinks (and what most other people think, but are lacking said b@lls).
Gaffes to thee, non-PC plain speaking to me.

Somebody doesn’t understand what a gaffe is. He meant to say those things, exactly as he said them.

Lots of points, but I think a major one is that expressing all honest opinion is now considered “gaffes”.
Not so. The real problem is that on an imaginary planet Earth people are saying “We go into the red next year. Lets spend even more money we dont have.”
