I never seen the show but I do know enough it is NC-17 material that has previous shown lots of nudity, sex, incest and graphic violence. In its fourth season some people are now "shocked" some man of means is shown picking a prostitute. What parents would allow their "young girls" to watch to watch this show in the first place?

What are parents thinking allowing [young girls] to watch this in the first place?

After seeing all the articles about the show, I watched it. It’s porn masked with a script.

its a soft porn show
the story sounded interesting but after a while I just could not stand the crudity - which does nothing to advance the story

It’s premium cable...you have to pay to get it. Anything after that is on YOU, not the show.

In Merry old England hookers had to display themselves naked to the clientele, marketing is all.

The show is very similar to the books it is based on. The very graphic nature of the scenes in the show is unnecessary. Martin has written a terrific series of fantasy novels with compelling characters. The sex scenes need not be so explicit or graphic in the novels or the show. The show would lose nothing that makes it genuinely worthwhile by toning down those scenes.

As a fan of the show and books, yes they have gone to far in making for no reason Prince Oberyn an aggressive homosexual.
The character was not as such in the book. In fact, there was really on the vaguest reference of a gay relationship between two characters in the first book. It was never openly described or even discussed.
However, despite the fact that there is apparently an little flying fairy on the set somewhere with a needs more gay in it wand injecting gay into everything it can find, the scene with Arya and Sandor at the end was almost flawless.
It was just absolutely brilliantly filmed, and I loved watching it. The actor and actress who plays each are just phenomenal.
But please, Homosexual Box Office, we don’t need or want the gay. Seriously, keep that damn crap to yourself, because it’s obnoxious and boring.

First, it's a pay channel. Second, the porn scenes really don't add anything to the content -- and actually take considerably away from it -- so DVR the episode and FF through the objectionable parts. Third: Those things said, who is letting "young girls" watch this show? These days you have to screen all of the content for objectionable messages, including Disney, ABC "Family," and even Nickelodeon. What Hollywood considers "age appropriate" is even sicker than what's considered age appropriate in the public schools...

It’s a “medieval” fantasy TV show.
Ever seen the type of guys that grew up as hardcore D&D nerds? This is actually their G-rated daydreams.

What parents would allow their "young girls" to watch to watch this show in the first place? I don't know of any. Do you?

Watched a few episodes, horny bunch of medieval types....

The nudity at the brothel last about 2 minutes in a 1 hour show. No sex scenes.
Prince Oberyn brought his mistress the bastard Ellaria Sand to pick both a male and female prostitute. They are both bisexuals from Dorne. In Westeros Dorne is like Sodom. This scene was meant to illustrate those points. How Dorne and its people differ from the rest of Westeros.
People who call GoT porn are either ignorant or stupid.

I've never seen the show or read the books. I did try to watch the HBO series Rome from several years back because the period interested me. However, it had too much soft-core porn as well and I lost interest. This seems to be the rage now with made-for-premium series like Spartacus, The Tudors, etc. I guess Bob Guccione of Caligula fame was ahead of his time.

It’s an extension of “try before you buy.” If you’re royalty, you get an extra layer of consumer protection; it’s “try before you try.” /S
