A prince strips a posing group of prostitutes naked one by one as he selects a companion for the night. It sounds like a scene from a porn film, but this was the latest episode of the epic fantasy drama Game of Thrones, based on the novels of George R R Martin. The start of the gory series’ fourth season on Monday even managed to shock its own fans. .....................................................

Campaigners warned it could lead to young people being ‘desensitised’ to content once considered shocking and being influenced by the behaviour they displayed. Miranda Suit, of Safermedia, said: ‘What are [young girls] learning from some of these storylines?

It’s a “medieval” fantasy TV show.

Ever seen the type of guys that grew up as hardcore D&D nerds? This is actually their G-rated daydreams.

What parents would allow their "young girls" to watch to watch this show in the first place?

I don't know of any. Do you?

It’s premium cable...you have to pay to get it. Anything after that is on YOU, not the show

Conservatives shouldn't be paying HBO anyhow

Yes, I know the list of companies Conservatives should be boycotting is almost endless, however HBO is probably the top company of that list to boycott. You pay for HBO you are paying Bill Maher, Bryantt Gumbel and Solodad O'Brien just to name a few.

You do more harm to the Conservative movement by paying HBO than you would if you were order from JCPennys online using Firefox.

The nudity at the brothel last about 2 minutes in a 1 hour show. No sex scenes.

Prince Oberyn brought his mistress the bastard Ellaria Sand to pick both a male and female prostitute. They are both bisexuals from Dorne. In Westeros Dorne is like Sodom. This scene was meant to illustrate those points. How Dorne and its people differ from the rest of Westeros.

People who call GoT porn are either ignorant or stupid.

Ditto. That scene was not surprising except for the fact that it wasn’t in the book.

I've never seen the show or read the books. I did try to watch the HBO series Rome from several years back because the period interested me. However, it had too much soft-core porn as well and I lost interest. This seems to be the rage now with made-for-premium series like Spartacus, The Tudors, etc. I guess Bob Guccione of Caligula fame was ahead of his time.

There are options.

The Premier of "Turn" was spectacular and quite accurate from a historical standpoint.

Well, I am reading the books right now and so far there has not been near as much “soft porn” as in the show. But I have only seen Season One thus far. In the books there is mention of sex here and there, it’s not been over done. Just a few words here and there.

I watch a few series on HBO mostly during free preview weekends on Uverse. True Detective was so good I would have paid HBO for a few months to watch it.

It got a 9.4 out of 10 rating on IMDB which is rare

The lives of two detectives, Rust Cohle and Martin Hart, become entangled during a 17-year hunt for a serial killer in Louisiana.
