I was going to make a point by posting this article, but I've forgotten what it was.

However the study also found that women who completely abstained from alcohol also suffered mental decline. In women there was only weak evidence that heavy drinking was associated with a faster decline in executive function, but abstinence from alcohol was associated with faster decline in the global cognitive score, Sabia said.
Seems to me the affect would be the same, male or female?

Easiest out for a speeding ticket. Tell the LEO that the last time you forgot where you were going and had to go back home, so that’s the reason for speeding - I wanted to get where I was going before I forgot where I was going and why.

"Well ya see, Norm, it's like this... A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest one sat the back that are killed first This natural s election is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, as we know, kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers."

A 10-year study of more than 7,000 male and female civil servants
********
Doing mind numbing work in the government for ten years is probably more of a factor in memory loss than drinking. The robotic repetition of processing endless paperwork does not provide much mental stimulation.
