Media mogul Ted Turner reiterated an absolutely absurd idea Sunday.
Appearing at the International Women's Earth and Climate Summit in New York City, Turner proposed men be barred from political office. They could do everything else, be president of universities, business leaders, but they just couldnt serve in any elected position for 100 years (video follows with transcript and commentary):
TED TURNER: Well, I came up with the idea at least 20 years ago that we needed more women in politics. It would take a different turn. And I suggested that men be barred from political office. They could do everything else, be president of universities, business leaders, but they just couldnt serve in any elected position for 100 years.
[Laughter and applause]
I think wed have a lot more emphasis on education and healthcare and a lot less on Army and the Navy and the Marine Corps.
[Laughter and applause]
It would be a very positive step, but it hasnt happened yet. But it still might.

Let’s try “no pansy-a$$ liberals voting for 100 years.”
Hanoi Jane learned some brainwashing techniques from her VC friends back in the sixties. It worked real well on Teddy.
Ted begs to be asked the question:
“If you’re so rich, how come you’re not smart?”
Women voters are not the problem. Most married women vote conservative. Single women who are looking to the government for support are the problem. They nearly all vote Democrat.
I wouldn’t want anyone from the “International Women’s Earth and Climate Summit” to decide what toppings I’m having on my Subway.
They almost surely believe in the AGW scam and therefore are deliberately uninformed dolts that will fall for anything.
Well, Ted should be happy that Baraq can still hold office.
It’s like two kids sharing an apple: One cuts the apple in half, the other chooses his half. Fair as fair can be. Anything, really, if we can get womyn away from the voting booth.
(ducking)
That's a bit strong, but not by much; 68% single women voted for Obama vs. 32% for Romeny in 2012, a 36% margin.
Yes single woman are low info voters and think getting free contraceptives is a huge issue. Never mind the job market...price of gas...They’re Flucked...as in Sandra.
Tune in tomorrow for Ted’s next great idea, using planes with special giant magnets that only attract ammo to fly over America sucking up all the bullets.
Agreed, if war is too important to be left in the hands of the generals, then it follows that the law is too important to be left in the hands of lawyers...
You know, I’d rather live in a place where women could vote, than where men couldn’t hold office, and I’m a woman.
Why doesn’t Mr. Turner try women only in the upper management positions of his company, and let us know how that works out.
“where women COULDN’T vote.”
Knew I shouldn’t have checked the “don’t preview” box.
*Anyone who consciously chose to marry Jane Fonda is forever disqualified from dictating to other men what they should do.*
LOL!!!
She hasn’t spoken a word that makes sense since “Barefoot in the Park”

Proof that being rich doesn’t mean you are smart.
Ted Turner should be barred from making any statements, since he is obviously suffering from dementia with a psychotic slant.
Men blame women for the laws and rulings of male legislators and judges. If only women were in office doing foolish things, then at least blaming them would be consistent.
I limited my comment to single women "who are looking to the government for support." Based on the voting statistic that you cited, I would estimate that at least 32% of single women are not looking for the government for support.
Married women clearly are not the problem. Obama lost married women by 7 percentage points, 46 percent to Romneys 53 percent.
Fair enough...I'm not sure where one could find a poll of single women on government assistance, but I'm confident that Obama won at least 80% of their vote.
Well... they’ve already barred REAL MEN from office, so...
