Posted on 09/23/2013 8:35:35 AM PDT by Kip Russell
Media mogul Ted Turner reiterated an absolutely absurd idea Sunday.
Appearing at the International Women's Earth and Climate Summit in New York City, Turner proposed men be barred from political office. They could do everything else, be president of universities, business leaders, but they just couldnt serve in any elected position for 100 years (video follows with transcript and commentary):
TED TURNER: Well, I came up with the idea at least 20 years ago that we needed more women in politics. It would take a different turn. And I suggested that men be barred from political office. They could do everything else, be president of universities, business leaders, but they just couldnt serve in any elected position for 100 years.
[Laughter and applause]
I think wed have a lot more emphasis on education and healthcare and a lot less on Army and the Navy and the Marine Corps.
[Laughter and applause]
It would be a very positive step, but it hasnt happened yet. But it still might.

First let’s try “no women voting” for 30 years
I’d tell Teddy to STFU, but he’s just too darned entertaining.
The idiot speaks?
International Women’s Earth and Climate Summit, well there’s your problem right there.
Ted was obviously looking for some action at the women’s conference.
Ted Turner, living life whipped, spanked and soprano.
Could we call it the “Jane Crow Law”?
Anyone who consciously chose to marry Jane Fonda is forever disqualified from dictating to other men what they should do.
Time for your medicine TT. This one’s grape flavored! Mmmmm!! Now open the hanger...
No men allowed to run. That way, Ted has a chance to win...
We need more Sarah Palins, Nikki Haleys, Marsha Blackburns, Suzanne (sp?) Martinezes.....oh....wait.....you probably mean only Liberal womyn, don't you.
the International Women’s Earth and Climate Summit
well it appers as though teddy Knows His Place.....
I’m all for it.
With the condition that men be exempt from income taxes for the duration...
Ted’s a sexist pig.
Actually would be interesting to try the two together:
the men get to vote and the women get to hold office.
It sounds as if Jane Fonda did his thinking for him. Well, someone had to do it.
“Lawyers” Should Be Barred From Political Office For 100 Years
...and his vision founded CNN.
how many other “I got mine” million/billionares are similarly certifiably nuts?
