Ski resort turns sewage into snow

Unpredictable snowfall patterns and drought are prompting the multibillion-dollar industry to consider cost-effective alternatives.

After a dismal start to the season for the second straight year, Colorado's ski resorts are finally getting the snow they depend on. Colorado Ski Country USA reported total skier visits at its 21 member resorts dropped 11.5% during the first period of the ski season, which ranges from opening day through New Year's Eve.

The marketing research firm IBISWorld reports that while the economic recovery is expected to bring more people to the nation's slopes, climate change is straining operations at many resorts. When natural snowfall can't be relied on, resorts resort to making their own snow. But man-made snow has its own challenges.

Environmental Research Web says about 30% of the water used in snow production is lost to evaporation -- and that the process puts additional stress on water supplies and ecosystems in areas that have only limited water resources.

that's called WEATHER

it changes - and it changes differently than it changed last time, except when it doesn't.

Look, I'll give you some basic science- since you are ignoring the PROVEN LIES of the people primarily responsible for this fraud...

Look up something called “significant digits” - It means you cant measure down to thousands of an inch, if all you have is a yardstick.

And you cant measure a half a degree of average tempurature rise if all you have is tree rings over centuries... And that is the whole basis of gloBULL warming propagandists a half a degree rise over a centuryexcept that the earth got cooler over the last 20 years so now they changed the name from 'global warming' to 'climate change' (so no matter which way the temperature goes they claim they were right.)

I won’t be around in 50 yrs or so, but maybe I’ll be able to check on this with you somehow. I think in 75-100yrs, we will find out that a lot of them weren’t lies.

geez, are you deliberately TRYING to be ignorant? the emails PROVE they LIED about it and MADE UP THE DATA!!!

GET IT?? IT WAS A LIE FROM DAY 1

And, they committed the worst sin of any scientist- they deleted original data that disagreed with their goals- they should have been summarily fired for that.

Riiiight! That AGW crap has long since circled the bowl.

A CO2 "layer" comprising 4/100ths of a percent of the total volume of the atmosphere, isn't going to change the "greenhouse" characteristics one iota.

Besides, a slightly warmer global climate would be good for the plants, animals and people living on it.
