Python on plane wing: Passengers on a Qantas flight from Paupa New Guina to Cairns, Australia, videotaped a 10-foot python on the wing of their plane during a nearly two-hour flight.
Stunned Qantas Airways passengers watched out their windows as a large python clung to a plane's wing during a nearly two-hour flight from Australia's northeastern city of Cairns to Papua New Guinea.
The 3-meter (10-foot) python fought to stay on the wing, pulling itself forward only to be pushed back by the frigid wind.

Snakes on a plane...wing
It was sad.
Poor python.
Seconded.
I rarely feel bad for snakes,,, but wow.
What in the world is that picture? Does that green area represent the snake? I can hardly picture it.
I believe that it a photo of a totally unrelated event (wing fairing came loose and ripped off)...the media is infamous for getting stock photos/graphics wrong when it comes to aircraft & especially firearms (i..e. “assault weapons”).
I think this is probably the first time I ever felt sorry for a snake.
That is totally messed up.
Anyone else thinking The Twilight Zone?
That was a MONKEY on Twilight Zone, I think.
Car owner to mechanic: “I dunno, when I try to start ‘er up, all I hear is a hissing sound.”
I dunno what’s up with that photo.
The plane was fine.
The snake was trying to get inside of the flap on the following edge of the wing the whole time and was beaten to death by the wind and the cold.
I can’t imagine having to watch that happen with no way to help.
Mechanic: It’s probably the coil.
You’re not kidding.
In most of the news report features, they’ve got stock photos of *Ball* Pythons as leaders.
Harmless little Balls live in North Africa, for cryin’ out loud.
Passenger Robert Weber videotaped the struggle and told Australia's Fairfax Media that the wind whipping the snake against the side of the plane left a bloody smear.
Pointless information when you don't have video in the story, dontcha think?
Here’s a story that actually has the video:
