This is the most incredible photo of the sun I've ever seen. In fact, it's one of the most incredible photos I've ever seen, period!

This was taken with a solar telescope. If you have the extra cash around, they do sell personal ones that are semi-affordable and would make fascinating tools for kids.

Yeah...vey few sunspots...see the daily sunspot pic at: http://sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov/sunspots/

there is only one.

last time there were few sunspots was a 400 year long mini ice age...from 1350 to 1750
