Just drove down one of the main streets in Cary, NC. Lots of Biden/Harris signs, some with little US flags on them. ZERO Trump/Pence signs. Found out from Wake County GOP that ALL our Trump/Pence signs were put out but have been REMOVED by the Demonrats.

Gotta say, I’d have had more sympathy for Roy Cooper in this situation two weeks ago. That would have been before the same people who scolded Republicans and conservatives who wanted to reopen the public square and demonstrate for those policies suddenly thought squeezing several thousand people into streets for demonstrations for a week on end was no problem at all. Political speech takes precedence over commerce, they have argued — so why does that not apply to a full political convention in August?North Carolina’s Democratic governor apparently thinks some political speech requires more planning than others: Governor Roy...
  • North Carolina’s special election is great news for Trump’s reelection chances

Republican Dan Bishop’s narrow win in Tuesday’s redo election in North Carolina’s 9th Congressional District isn’t just good news for House Republicans. Despite Bishop’s small, two-percentage-point margin of victory, it’s a rare bit of positive news for President Trump’s reelection chances. It’s no secret that Trump had a bad August. His job approval rating has slumped to only 43.1 percent in Wednesday’s RealClearPolitics average, about two points down from mid-July. Polls generally show him trailing Democratic front-runner Joe Biden by more than 10 percentage points, and they show him behind other potential nominees such as Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and...

The Trump train came rumbling into Fayetteville Monday night as President Donald Trump and his Keep America Great Rally visited North Carolina. With the reverence and excitement generated by few celebrities or famous people, the president addressed an electrified crowd of over 5,000 inside the Crown Expo Center and countless others who sat outside the building watching the 45th president on a giant screen. Trump delivered his own reverence for those who stood before him. “Hello to Fayetteville,” Trump said. “It’s good to be here in North Carolina, share this night with you with the hard working patriots who believe...
  • Dems admit Trump helped GOP candidates sweep North Carolina special elections

In a major victory for both President Trump and national Republicans, North Carolina GOP state Sen. Dan Bishop was projected to win a fiercely contested special U.S. House election for the 9th District that was widely seen as a bellwether for the president's chances in the 2020 election. And another Republican House candidate, Greg Murphy, decisively won a separate special election in North Carolina's more solidly GOP-leaning 3rd District earlier Tuesday evening -- frustrating Democrats who spent millions trying to make a splash in the state. Even Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) Chairwoman Cheri Bustos acknowledged that the president contributed...

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — The Latest on the special election for a North Carolina congressional seat (all times local): North Carolina Republicans claim election officials in one county provided the wrong address for a voting precinct ahead of a hotly contested special congressional election. But state election officials say voters were notified of the address change weeks ago. Polls opened Tuesday for the special election in the Ninth Congressional District. Democrat Dan McCready is in a tossup battle against conservative state Sen. Dan Bishop for a vacant seat.

When President Donald Trump steps on stage for a campaign rally in Rio Rancho, New Mexico next week, even his own campaign staffers know he will be facing long odds. A Republican candidate for President hasn’t won the state since 2004, when George W. Bush beat John Kerry there by a margin of just 5,988 votes. Trump himself lost the state by eight points to Hillary Clinton in 2016 and his disapproval rating among registered voters there is a crushing 57%, according to the Morning Consult voter tracking poll. Nonetheless, Trump’s campaign is betting it can win in New Mexico....

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Joe Biden was at a soul food restaurant in Los Angeles on Thursday when he blasted President Donald Trump’s “racist” taunts at a rally the night before. “This is about dividing the country,” the early Democratic front-runner, who has been criticized for his own handling of race, told reporters. “This is about dividing and raising the issue of racism across the country because that’s his base, that’s what he’s pushing.” But Michael Fisher, an African American pastor from Compton who attended the event, warned Democrats to ignore Trump.

Raleigh, N.C. — North Carolina Republicans held a news conference Sunday afternoon, praising senators for confirming Justice Brett Kavanaugh, despite what they called a “smear campaign” spearheaded by Democrats. During the event, the women of the North Carolina Republican Party said the sexual assault claims against Kavanaugh are “outlandish.” The news conference opened up with Michele Nix, vice chairwoman of the North Carolina Republican Party, saying that women stand with sexual assault survivors, but they also stand in support of the presumption of innocence....

Had several ROBO calls over the past two days from 704-935-5630, Kannapolis, NC identifying themselves as Young Republicans. They were soliciting donations. This is an exchange in the Charlotte NC area. I do not live near there. I think it was a scam as the woman was very rude on the phone as I explained that after Alabama I only give directly to the candidate, not to the Party. Is this even legal?

ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. — Looking back, the sign-stealers were a portent of sorts, an early indication that 2016 would be like no election in recent memory. While it is not uncommon for people to steal campaign signs from other people's lawns in the heat of an election campaign, normally people confiscate the signs of candidates they oppose. But something quite different happened in Robeson County, N.C., as Donald Trump started to gain traction in the presidential campaign. As Bo Biggs, treasurer of the county's Republican Party, tells it, "People were stealing [Trump] signs to put them in their own yard."...
  • Gingrich: "Very Short Night" If Trump Wins Michigan, Florida, North Carolina

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich says election night could be "very short" if Donald Trump carries North Carolina, Florida and Michigan. "If Trump carries New Hampshire, it's game on," Gingrich said on Tuesday's 'Fox & Friends.' "At that point, if I were Hillary and her team, I will be very, very worried." "We're really in for a long night unless, as the poll that came out this morning suggests, he carries Michigan, in which case we're in for a very short night because at that point it will be very clear that Donald Trump is the next president," Gingrich said....

Should we succumb to the temptation to freak out about an individual poll, which data nerds tell us we must never do? Or should we calmly remind ourselves that the polling average is usually a more reliable indicator of the state of the race than any one survey is? C’mon, it’s the final week. We’re entitled to a little freaking out. SurveyUSA has it Trump 51, Clinton 44: Almost a third of respondents in the WRAL News poll ranked trustworthiness as the most important consideration in voting for president. Positions on issues were rated most important by 40 percent, while...

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is nibbling away at Hillary Clinton’s lead in North Carolina, according to a new poll. The race between Clinton and Trump is now too close to call in Elon University’s latest survey of North Carolina. The Democratic nominee leads Trump 42 percent to 41.2 percent, well within the poll’s margin of error of 3.7 percentage points. In last month's version of the poll, Clinton led Trump by nearly 6 points. This latest survey of 710 likely voters was conducted before FBI Director James Comey announced on Friday that the bureau is reviewing a newly discovered...

Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump by four points in North Carolina, while Trump is ahead by one in Ohio, according to two new NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist polls of these states. In North Carolina, Clinton gets support from 45 percent of likely voters, Trump gets 41 percent, and Libertarian Gary Johnson gets 9 percent. President Barack Obama eviscerated Donald Trump as unfit for the presidency during a raucous rally here for the Hillary Clinton campaign, shrugging off several interruptions from anti-Clinton hecklers as he sought to rally voters in a crucial swing state. Obama seemed to revel in his ridicule of the Republican nominee, mocking Trump for his loss of nearly $1 billion, his refusal to release his tax returns and his lewd comments about women. "The guy says stuff nobody would find tolerable if they were applying for a job at 7-Eleven," Obama said during a lengthy speech to a crowd of 7,700...

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — After largely staying silent for the first few days of the firestorm that erupted after a leaked video showed his running mate making lewd comments about women, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence expressed strong support for Donald Trump on Monday. “It’s been an interesting few days,” Pence said as he began. Pence’s acknowledgment drew laughs and applause from the audience for his speech at a reception hall in Charlotte’s North Davidson arts district. “But I’ve got to tell you, I joined this campaign in a heartbeat because you have nominated a man for president who never quits,” Pence...

Three Breitbart/Gravis state polls of likely voters — Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina — demonstrate how close the presidential election between Democrat Hillary R. Clinton and her GOP rival Donald J. Trump has become just before the first presidential debate. In Minnesota, Clinton and Trump are tied with each having 43 percent of the vote, said Doug Kaplan, the managing director of Gravis Marketing, the Florida-based polling firm that executed the poll. In Pennsylvania, Clinton leads Trump with 46 percent to his 43 percent, and in North Carolina the former first lady leads Trump 44 percent to the New York...
