VANITY: How to wake up the apathetic

Some in my family are "normies" who just don't have the energy to care about what they call "politics". They believe the government is corrupt but think there's nothing we can do - no good options - so they just want to ignore it and "remain sane". Basically they are black-pilled, and they say most people are the same way.

How do we reach these people? This is what I'd like to say to them, if there was a way to get them to listen. Can somebody help me out here?

We were not vigilant enough to maintain and keep the freedom we received. It’s a stinky political world right now, but as tempting as it is to just hold our noses and ignore it, unless each one of us cares enough to turn this around, this is a very small glimpse of the government we might pass on to our children:

Passing a law that targets one person.

Giving a ticket to the guy going 76mph on the interstate when everyone else is going 90.

Planting fake evidence against whoever goes against a political agenda.

Jailing political prisoners indefinitely without charging them with crimes.

Torturing those political prisoners.

Spying on everybody but especially judges and lawmakers.

Keeping sex crimes unprosecuted so perpetrators can be blackmailed.

Law enforcement getting rid of “no trespassing” signs and barriers, guiding people into a secretly-restricted area, and then calling them terrorists and giving them jail time and fines.

Firing rubber bullets and teargas at peaceful protesters after a year of letting arsonists, brick throwers, sucker-punchers, and looters off scot-free.

Law enforcement busing in agitators to frame peaceful protestors; agitators fist-bumping law enforcement when violence is achieved.

The leader who refused 20,000 National Guardsmen to prevent “an insurrection” holding herself off-limits to Congressional investigation about her role.

Congressional investigators all hand-picked by that leader hiding evidence disproving their accusations toward her political rivals and holding televised hearings where they tell lies unchecked.

Requiring people to submit to scientific experiments that will kill them and their children.

Having weapons that can undetectably assassinate any person any time.

Having weapons that can brainwash psychologically vulnerable people and use them to commit any atrocity on demand.

Having weapons that can set fires and trigger earthquakes at any time and any place.

Bureaucrats who break every law to target a political enemy – and are then protected by the “Department of Justice”.

Trials that violate evidentiary standards.

Judges and prosecutors who get rich and famous by targeting a political figure.

Juries who lie about their biases so they can punish their political enemies.

Changing a law to get rid of the statute of limitations temporarily so that one man can be bankrupted for defending himself against a 30-year-old rape allegation whose “victim” is caught red-handed lying about the dress she supposedly wore – the only actual evidence even claimed in the case.

A President taking bribes from nearly all the country’s enemies.

Taxpayers forced to pay the President’s money-laundering nation to support the war that erupts when another country finds our CIA creating bioweapons directed toward them.

Staging color revolutions all over the world and in our own country to insure massive worldwide bloodshed.

Censoring factual content on social media and “news”.

Allowing and protecting the abuse, selling, and killing of adult and child sex slaves.

Arming drug cartels.

Passing so many laws and regulations that nobody can possibly be innocent of them all.

Deliberately putting human toxins in food, air, and mosquitos.

Doing the bidding of those planning the extermination of 80% of the world’s people.

Banning home gardens

Banning vehicles that we can afford and that can safely get us to work and back. Rigging “scientific studies” to call safe, effective treatments dangerous, to keep hundreds of thousands of sick people from being saved.

Prosecuting anyone who holds that our own laws governing election safeguards should be obeyed

Deliberately leaving our border unprotected so that any terrorist and any disease carrier can walk in and be received with open arms.

What difference is competition going to make? Suppose there is a competitive 3rd party. Nobody gets a majority of the electoral votes. It goes to the House of Representatives and they choose a President. What has changed?

You don’t solve anything without addressing the root cause of the problem. Why are the political parties up to no good? Because they can get away with it? Why can they get away with it? If people are stuck being in the House and Senate and get the same money either way, why not do something worthwhile rather than baloney? There has to be an incentive to keep doing the crap instead of sometimes doing something good. And if that’s the case, then that incentive will be the same regardless of how many parties there are.

I just don’t see where you’re coming from.

I support getting rid of the incentives for politicians to become crooks instead of actually serving a useful purpose. Remove the bribes and threats and policy decisions can be made on the merits.

Heck, if the democrats lost all their crooks, maybe even they would come up with some decent policy decisions.

Take Ukraine. If Ukraine wasn’t laundering money for all the crooks in DC, how many would vote to send their constituents’ tax dollars abroad to make sure all Ukrainian men end up dead? We all know why they won’t do the decent thing and push for a diplomatic ending to the bloodshed. It’s because they are all in the pockets of the moneyholders in Ukraine and elsewhere. That’s not going to change just because some of the crooks have an I behind their name instead of D or R.

As long as corruption can buy politicians, D, R, and I politicians will ALL be worthless for doing anything genuinely good.

One of the things that the Right has long suffered from is “Electionism”.

Which is the delusion that if conservative politicians win an election, the “neutral” and “non-partisan” civil service and bureaucracy dispassionately implements their agenda.

In fact, the bureaucracies are captured, and are the centre of the Resistance.

The Left has never had popular support for any of their major agendas. Whether it was school prayer, death penalty, busing, affirmative action, mass immigration, “free trade”, gay marriage... they never had popular support for any of it.

But it doesn’t matter. If the elites all agree on something like “free trade” or mass immigration, they control the institutions which make it happen. Regardless of what the public wants.

The implication is the things that the elites agree on cannot be change by elections.

And when there are candidates like Trump (or Netanyahu, or Berlusconi) who are actually not part of that system, the Regime tries to put them in prison.

Exactly. We’ve reached the point where we cannot vote our way out of this. Trump is more a protest vote at this point.

That only appeals to someone already very pro-Trump, it turns off those who aren’t.

It is in your face and off putting, this thread is about persuading people, winning them over, bringing them in.

Libertarians hurt us, they gave Patty Murray a Senate seat, besides they are lefty.

No 3rd party vote helps conservatives, it only helps the left.

A few months ago, I thought that Trump getting elected again would have more of a Regime destabilizing effect. There seemed to be a possibility that they would go even further outside normal legal channels to stop him.

But one thing that has happened in the last few months, is they are signalling that Trump may well win, and get ready.

So they try to rig up NATO so he can’t get out. They transfer US assets to NATO control. They change civil service law to prevent mass firings. They tell Sotomeyer to quit now for a Biden chosen replacement.

It is still worth it for Trump to win, but it is not the basis of a real turnaround. Partially because a lot of the opposition is Repub. So even big majorities won’t necessarily help.

Competition means what competition has always meant: not being able to just sit on their ass and do nothing while the money rolls in. If they get competition some of that competition might actually stand for something. Some of it might actually try to solve problems. Just having competition will not being able jerrymander job security.

How are you going to remove the bribes and threats when there’s only 2 parties that exist entirely on bribes and threats?

You’ve got it backwards. The D and R are the SOURCE of the corruption. They built this system to get bribed. They will NEVER allow any law to get passed that will ever threaten the bribery. So if you want to end that you MUST support 3rd party

No they don’t. They gave you nothing. If your candidate sucks so bad they can’t win that’s on the candidate, not their competition. Especially the competition that never had a shot.

No big 3 vote helps America. It only supports corruption.

Best we can hope for is that Trump plants seeds that will grow over the long haul, but it might take a generation. It could positively influence the youth and turn them away from the wokeness that has plagued the previous generations.

You Libertarians have helped the left quite a bit, such as Patty Murray.

Voting for a candidate you actually believe on never throwing your vote away.

Now voting for a party you know for a fact does not share your beliefs, will not try to do anything, and you will complain about insesantly... That is throwing you vote away.
