So it took 1700 years to start melting?

Guess that “climate change” thing is real.

Obviously that area was not covered by ice back then, so what caused that warming since there was no industrialization and SUVs?

Campfires.

IOW, Global Freeze caused the artifacts to be covered with ice and snow.

“Why a frozen one? According to Biden there are an abundance of live ones living in Texas.”

Good point! Comrade Biden speaks.

In other words, in 300 AD not only was it warmer than today, there was a culture that thrived in that warm and benefitted from it.

The author finds this ‘disturbing?’

No, Jimmy Hoffa, according to the Irishman got cremated in a Detroit funeral parlor within a couple hours of Frank shooting him twice in the back of the head.

The Nazi sub base and Atlantis was from a Dirk Pitt/Clive Cussler novel. I think Atlantis Found was the title.

More glacial melt, although a disturbing factor of a much larger global warming effect...

What’s a 2,000 year old boat doing inside a glacier except 2,000 years ago it was warmer.

You mean, the glacier had receded prior to 300AD when there were no cars, no coal fired power plants, no chemical plants and chemicals that destroyed the ozone.... Then the un woke Vikings moved in...

Just how can that happen?

"This sort of thing provides good evidence that a COOLING TREND occurred in the fairly recent past. It does NOT provide evidence that we are in a warming trend which should be a cause for concern. It also does NOT provide any evidence that WE cause climate chance. If anything, it is evidence for the opposite."

I agree with part 1 and 3 of your post, but respectfully disagree with the part 2. We've known for at least a hundred years that we're in what we today call the "current warming trend" that begin around 1800 or 1850. We're still not back to what it was during the "medieval warming period" (roughly 900 to 1200 AD) and perhaps not as warm as the "Roman warm period" (roughly 200 BC to 400 AD). Both of those prior warm periods had many good things that we shouldn't fear. Things like higher crop yields, more predictable rain patterns, less plague, and more usable land that's not a frozen tundra (as this article makes clear).

Just like we shouldn't believe the political charlatans when they say we cause global warming, we also shouldn't fear it. We should look forward to all the good things it's brought in past warming periods.

Love the repeated reference to global warming, and as has been noted on some previous comments - this shows that things were much warmer when these objects were left. Hmmmmmm, now somehow civilization, plants, animals and (ptui ptui) even left leaning idiots existed back then also, not?

Obviously not because such well eddikated pepes such as the media and politicians have told me so. And, of course, I’ll believe them because.
