It’s an interesting question and, given the stakes, the former might actually be preferable.
One of the dumber aspects of the Trump presidency has been for the media, Democrats, and some Republicans to pretend D.C. was a bastion of truth-telling prior to the 2016 election. What that means is that when you get someone like Joe Biden opposite of Trump, there’s this automatic assumption made that he’s somehow more honest than the current President.
To be frank, there’s very little evidence of that. Biden has been lying his entire career and he’s hit a record pace lately. As my colleague Nick Arama laid out, Biden has been earning a ridiculous amount of Pinnocchios in the previous weeks.

One can look at videoed speeches for 2018, and say that he still had his wit at that point. It’s around October/November of 2019 that you notice some appearances where he seemed unclear. I would say since January...virually all of the public appearances have had something ‘weird’ that he uttered.
At the pace of things...it’s hard to see him in the public light in October of this year. As of Feb/Mar of 2021....He’ll have to be in some custodial care situation.

After his comment a decade ago about FDR, TV and the stock market crash of 1929 I’ve been of the impression he’s always just been an empty suit or puppet. I think a lot of our elected officials are, IMO.
I certainly would not such a man as president. And I think this is part of the charm of Trump. He doesn’t seem to let either party push him around.

You forgot to mention that he’s also the best the Democrat party has to offer America at this time!
