Who knows what to expect next?

I am in Cary, North Carolina. Here is what I just saw.
Just came back from the Harris Teeter off of

Harrison Pointe Shopping Center
Cary, NC 27513
This store is normally well stocked, and you never have trouble finding anything. This morning it was about 65% full. Cleaning supplies, TP, meat, milk and bread were all very low or gone.
The body washes were low. There were lots of empty shelves.
I was listening to the the employee at the cash register. She said there were a lot of people coming into the store and buying anywhere from $600 to $800 worth of groceries. Harris Ts said they were trying to restock the shelves, but the demand was so hight they were having trouble keeping up.I could see the store was restocking the shelves, but wow I have never seen it so empty!
As long as President Trump can keep the supply chain moving, then we will be in good shape. This is evidence on why we should not be so dependent on China for everything. If this was the 1990s and going back, then this would not even be an issue. Thanks to the stupid politicians that sold us out. It is a modern version of the Indian Chiefs selling out their tribes for guns, booze and trinkets.
Yep, I buy 91% alcohol once or twice a month to clean my humidifier. Thanks to hoarders I can’t find any now.
Before the local ‘scientists’ on here tell me that what I have been doing doesn’t work, let me say that when I use alcohol - and only alcohol - to clean my humidifier and even freshen the filter a time or two before changing it out I can no longer smell mold. If I can’t smell it, that’s good enough.
It may be time to bring back something from WW2....rationing
You say “God’s grace is more than sufficient”.....However Proverbs 27:12 tells us....“A prudent person foresees the danger ahead and takes precautions”.
This is similar buying to any ‘storm’ that may hit. Better to be prepared so you don’t have to go out in it later.... Difference is you know when the storm hits,.... this virus creeps in unnoticed.

Most printed bags are made here. Too expensive to ship. Foam plates are an airball, real costly to ship overseas. I’m not saying they couldn’t, but doesn’t make sense.
These are normally 24 hr stores but the company said yesterday that they would close from midnight until 6 am each night to clean and restock. A friend went at 6 am and said there were still lots of empty shelves. My daughter went about 9 and things were better. I suspect it will take some time to handle the increased demand.
Springfield, Virginia: My wife and I stopped in the local supermarket yesterday around 6PM. There was no meat, no toilet paper, no eggs, no bananas, no potatoes, very little other produce, no disinfectants, no milk. I stopped in there this morning because its close to my gas station. Meat coolers were 80% filled, every produce item was in abundance, and there was Lysol to be had. Still no eggs or toilet paper.

Good deal and think it is onsane to see how quickly the shelves are emptied.
During WW2, they ramped up manufacturing and production, only it was reserved for the war effort. Consumer goods had to be rationed. Government now needs to stay out of the way and let our producers, distributors and retailers do what they do best.
I chalk it up to the two words, “national emergency”, which retards took to mean “End Days”. What the words meant was that funds would be freed up to help people.

Me too - haven’t seen the grocery lot that packed before not even day before Christmas. But I went in anyway because I had other shopping to do - the checkout line was clear across the store. The dozen self checkouts were all closed - the attendants for those were needed to man the main checkouts. It was taking 2 hours for people to checkout!
I left.

I totally understand that. Often after a huge storm, water supplies are contaminated but that's not the case with the virus.
It also hit me yesterday when I saw some people at Costco that clearly don't have much in the way of resources, this is a middle and upper class thing. Poor people can't afford to spend $500 on groceries- they live week to week. When they do try to shop, there is nothing to buy.

Just got a text from my music minister that services have been cancelled until further notice.
THe one Wal-mart was playing My Corona ..ma ma ma ma my Corona..and the other Wal-mart was playing, Stay’n Alive..ah ah ah ah..staying al..a a ive..staying alive.
This is still the weekend so it'll be interesting how Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will be.

Level A certified HAZMAT tech here. That guy isn’t using HEPA filters. He has a positive pressure self contained breathing apparatus on his back.
It takes 2 people ideally to get one dressed out to work and you have 20 minutes work time or so.
You don’t want to have to wear one of those things, especially in the summer. You haven’t sweated until you work in one in August.
Lucky me took the 80 hr class in August.
