Dog Makes A Miraculous Recovery After It Was Found In The Streets On The Brink Of Death
Viral Mag ^ | January 13, 2020 | Viral Mag Team

A starved, emaciated lurcher was found by Animal Welfare officers in Blythe, Northumberland. The pup was callously dropped on the street where it was found and had apparently been left for dead. The condition of the poor pooch was appalling: almost literally skin and bones, dried out and an easily-visible ribcage, nearly no hair, and weighing 24 lbs (10,88 kgs), which is half the weight she should weigh. The dog which was named Tiggy by Berwick Animal Rescue Kennels (B-A-R-K for short), who took her in and took care of her, might as well been called Twiggy at the time.

Everyone was afraid that she won’t make it past Christmas: But She made it!

So glad this poor doggie was saved. I hope the fiend who left her to die gets their ugly face kicked in all the way down the street. Would probably improve their looks.

All of our pets have been found/dumped. The Siberian Husky was dumped and had no teeth. Smartest dog ever and loyal companion for 8 short years. I sorely miss my best friend.

Reminds me of Courage, a dog intentionally starved to 37 pounds, and saved by my rescue, the German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County (CA) in March 2010. He passed away in 2016 due a heart attack.

I t really takes a low down sort of human

To what?
Oh, I know. It takes a low down sort of human to emphatically assert that a dog out on the streets of a city (not even way out in the country) was dumped rather than concede that it could also be a runaway which dug under the fence. Bad things only happen because bad people cause them (it must be understood) not because sad things are part of this world.

So when something makes you sad, be angry at a person. Find that person and show them what's what. Even if they don't exist.

… Bad things only happen because bad people cause them…

That’s true! After all, we all know that the volcano in New Zealand and the earthquakes in Puerto Rico which caused all those deaths were caused by Trump. (That’s why the dims are impeaching him!)

Read up on a lurcher. Similar to my dog — Carolina Dog/American Dingo. Sight hounds, hard headed wild beasties who really aren’t for most people. Good hunter, companion pups — but they keep you on your toes.
They can be trained — but they take it all as more of a suggestion than a rule.
The little bast*rds will devilishly steal your heart and not give it back, though.
They are not for the timid or weak...or for people who just want a dog with little committment.
My dog routinely pisses me off... but he’s amazing. The most loving, unique, loyal jerk of a dog I’ve ever owned.
I hope the creep owner who abandoned him gets what’s coming to him/her.

I agree that not every dog in this predicament has been purposely dumped. I’ve worked in rescue and sometimes you can piece together a story and sometimes not. I’m guessing that this one was treated badly and was afraid of human contact until it was very desperate.

A dog found in that condition must have been a stray for a long time.

I recall Courage’s case.

The owner actually worked for a vet, if I remember correct.

I am so glad he was able to have a good home for the rest of his life.

The animal hospital where the monster worked knew absolutely nothing what she did and they got death threats. I took my dog to that animal hospital twice and they are top notch.

We also saved this dog too in 2010. We do not know if this was animal abuse or not. He’s still alive.

As a dog owner of three dogs which lived 14-16 years, this ending gives me a glow of happiness. Now have a shelter dog and she is 4 years old. Thanks to you for putting on this story.

I remember the woman had to admit the vet where she worked knew nothing.

The vet’s staff were sick to their stomach having found out about Courage.

All but one of our pooche furbabies were rescues.

Felt great, everytime!

I was watching a video about a mother cat having trouble because it had some kind of ring around its neck. It was easy to tell it was some kind of plumbing apparatus. The rescuers were able to follow the cat to a place with a bunch of abandoned sinks. She had put her head down the drain to look for food, got stuck, and forced her way out complete with sink flange. She’s lucky to not have been hopelessly stuck and died. In trapping her to attempt to remove the flange, she managed to remove it against the cage walls. They took her and her six kittens to the vet and got her some treatment. The flange had made it tough for her to swallow food and she had made herself weak by making sure the kittens were able to feed fully from what milk she could produce.
