CNN Panel: Trump's July Fourth "Salute To America" Event Was Like "Schoolhouse Rock Trump Version"
RCP Video ^ | 7-5-2019 | Tim Hains

A large panel of CNN contributors give reactions and takes blasting President Trump's Fourth of July "Salute to America" event and his speech talking about American and military history.

Former Admiral John Kirby said he was "troubled about the militaristic tone of the whole thing" and mocked President Trump's speech as "essentially 8th-grade history that was fairly sepia-toned and saccharine in its depth and context."

"I could have gotten this off of watching Schoolhouse Rock," Kirby added.

(Remember to watch/read it all.)

I don't know about you, but I like Trump's speech.

The more Leftists want to tear it down, the more you know Trump got it just right.

And Mudd is an insufferable hack if that's what his take is from the speech.

Loved the speech. There was info in it that I did not know or had forgotten. With the way leftists are trying to change history there is no guarantee it would have been told correctly.

I can’t figure out why Schoolhouse Rock is supposed to be shameful. Those cartoons remain an outstanding canon of learning.

The Dems don't call up tanks just to show them off. They call them up to kill Americans.

Christ is the Rock.

Our modern Democrats lack a source of nobleness. As do many GOP as well. But God is beginning to knock on our door again.

SchoolHouse Rock was an entertaining and effective educational tool.

Sounds like an ivory tower comment fell flat. Backfired, in fact.

Former Admiral John Kirby spent the last year and a half looking for an opportunity to use the words sepia-toned and saccharine in the same sentence.

Proves you can have a good vocabulary and still be dumb.

Doubtful they even teach American History is schools anymore, and it they did they shouldn't be waiting to 8th grade for it.

Most college grajiates could not pass an 8th grade history test. Especially one from 50 or more years ago

Isn’t a thing with vicious socialist systems to erase history, or to try to smother it in trivia?
