I'm off to London tomorrow morning!

West End musicals ("Chess" and "Young Frankenstein")! Imperial War Museum! London Bridge food tour! The Churchill War Rooms!

The only annoying part is taking all day to get there. I know, First World Problems.

I'll only be there for a week. Any last minute suggestions?

I was in London the weekend after the election in 2016, wore my MAGA hat everywhere. No one really noticed. Great town. Ignore the Eeyores on this forum. Yes, UK has a lot of serious problems, but London is still an amazing city. I highly recommend Mamies in Covent Garden - relatively cheap place to eat, as of last summer was #1 restaurant in London by Tripadvisor.

Catch a band at the historic 100 Club on Oxford Street. Step in to St. Martin in the Fields, just off Trafalgar Square. One of the most beautiful churches I have ever seen. Many museums are free like in DC.

During the week (not on Sunday), stop in at St. Mary Woolnoth church in the financial district where John Newton is buried.

If you have time, the bike tours are a great way to see the city.

British Museum of Natural History is a must. You can see the Rosetta Stone and a full sized replica of a blue whale.

British Museum. St Martins in the Field. The London Oratory. The Old Guildhall (city hall — formal).

Remember that in England, a biscuit is a cookie.

If you order Biscuits and Gravy for breakfast, they’ll think you’re Swiss.

Take a walking tour. Your hotel will have brochures in the lobby so easy to find one you will like. Also, the HMS Belfast is worth a visit too.

If you have time for a day trip, visit the Imperial War Museum in Duxford. They have an American Air Museum there that is included in the admission (it was when I visited there some time ago anyway).

Uhhh... the best part of the Parthenon, the carved frieze, is at the British Museum.

lemonade = Sprite/7-up.

The lemonade/beer drink is called a shandy, very refreshing on a hot day.

I was in London in 1977 when there was still some sanity there.

Tell the Queen hello for me.
It’s been a month since I’ve spoken to her.

Westminster Abbey — Poet’s Corner
St Paul’s — worth the tour
St James’s Park — better than Hyde, in my opinion
Skip the Crown Jewels and the Tower; they’re just a sham anyway. Go strolling. It’s a far better way to see the City.

My Son in the US Navy was assigned to the US Embassy. The Embassy was in charge of his housing. They had a garden apartment about a block south of Abbey Road. It was a beautiful place. Went there in 08, near the tube station I thought I had entered an Arab country. Anyway, check out The London Eye, the Tower tour is great. If you can go, go see Stonehenge it’s worth the trip. While there I talked to a young lady who was there with her stunning German Shepard, she told me she was from Nottingham, I asked her how the Sheriff and Robin Hood were doing, she laughed and she said she gets that a lot from Yanks. See the Wartime tour of Churchill’s bunker. It’s like the Brits gathered all the world’s treasures in one City.

Visit Platform Nine and Three-Quarters in King's Cross station.

Hard Rock Cafe

If you're going to Fortnum & Mason, as a previous poster suggested, go to Harrod's, as well.
