Daylight Savings Time is pretty awesome. I don't care what the cranks and grouches say about it.

Today is first day of Daylight Savings time and I am full of energy!

It's almost 7PM and lots of daylight still out there and coming through the floor to ceiling windows and skylights of my southern Connecticut home. There may be a lot of snow outside and plenty cold but this is definitely a sign of Spring.

When I head home from work tomorrow, there will be daylight! Daylight on my evening commute at last! After months of frigid darkness (with a short break in Florida during February).

From this point until mid-June, the evening commute will be brighter and brighter and soon I'll be grilling steaks and quaffing beer on my patio.

Thank you business men from 1918 who wrote all those postcards to get it done. And all those farmers too! Get your Hoe ready!

lol....I grew up in the East. I appreciate you joy.

My solution is to move it a half hour and leave it alone.

I dislike it because every year I have to download a pdf manual on my watch to change the time!

and yes I a too cheap to buy a watch that figures it all out by itself!

It’s amazing how my mood improves when it doesn’t get dark so early. I leave my Christmas lights up until February just so I come home to some lights. Drives my wife crazy but I need to have light when I get home.

IOW: pick a time and stick with it.

I have to get up at 5AM to check the servers at work to make sure they are functioning for the start of business.

Now it will feel like 4AM. Grrrr!

pick a time and stick with it.

My attitude as well. I don't really have a dog in this race because I'm retired and just get up when the sun shines in my window. I don't really care what time it is. But, I hate the overreach by the nanny state.

I say get rid of Day Light Savings time.It serves no purpose other than to destroy your circadian rhythm.

It’s retarded. If you want sunlight when you go home get to work earlier. Making the people change their clocks to lie about the time is pure government control, it exists solely to remind you who’s in charge. Revel in your chains surf.

As a hung over Robert Mitchum said to bright-eyed, morning-kinda-guy Jack Webb after Webb said how beautiful the mountains were, “May they crumble and turn to dust before your very eyes.”

IJust get up earlier and go to bed earlier. You should not need the nanny state to give you pretend time to help you do that.

I hate Daylight Saving Time. I don't care how light or dark it is once I've been up all day, but I care very much how light or dark it is when I have to drag myself out of bed and drive to work. Can you imagine getting up at the equivalent of 5 a.m. in late December? Or schoolkids waiting for the bus in the pitch black? I say go back to standard time and leave it alone.

Daylight savings time was the one stupid idea that Ben Franklin had. It causes the kids to go to school in the dark so that the parents can hang out for an extra hour at night. It doesn’t save any fuel. I cannot think of anything it does good. Sorry, I have to disagree.

https://www.realnatural.org/do-daylight-savings-changes-have-negative-health-effects/

“...Heart attacks increase with transition to daylight savings

Researchers from the William Beaumont Hospital in Michigan conducted a study that monitored the incidence of heart attacks – myocardial infarctions to be precise – between 2006 and 2012. The study population ended up being 935 patients, about 60/40 men to women.

They found that while there was little increase in heart attacks during the fall – even slightly lower – there was a major spike in heart attacks the day after the spring time change (spring forward) to daylight savings time.

The number of heart attacks the day after the spring time change vaulted 71 percent over the average incidence numbers.

For the rest of the first week after the time change, heart attack incidence averaged an increase of 17 percent higher than the average incidence rate for heart attacks...”
