A former Pepsi factory that sat vacant for a decade is being reincarnated as an indoor marijuana grow — one of the largest in the pot-friendly state of Colorado.

Doyen Elements, a holding company that leases real estate properties out to legal cannabis companies, bought an old bottling plant in Pueblo County. Upon completion in 2019, the facility could potentially produce up to 70,000 pounds of marijuana flower a year.

According to a recent report in Forbes, the company is one of a growing number of real estate investment firms that are making money in legal weed without actually touching the plant.

Here's a sneak peak at the massive grow-op coming to Colorado in 2018.....

There’s one very “interesting” aspect to cannabis-growing operations of any scale.

As of now, as far as I know, there’s no bank that will or can legally take your deposits.

With 100 million Americans tending towards diabetes, mariguana is health food, ironically; if the so called munchies are constrained to non glycemic response inducing snacks.

PepsiCo also owns Frito-Lay, which complements the pothead culture very nicely.

70,000 pounds x 16 ounces to the pound x $300 per ounce (for the good stuff)

equals

A whopping $336,000,000.00 from a single location.
Even at $250 an ounce it still adds up to $280 million.

It’s getting down below $1500/lb according to someone I’ve met out in CA who used to grow a lot. I expect after a couple more years it’ll be less than 200-300/lb though ironically the quality is so high here now that higher end stuff is being exported south.

There was a cartoon back in the 70s where a couple of cops look into their rear view mirror and see an 18-wheeler with the words "MARIJUANA WHOLESALERS" on the trailer.

Now we're thisclose to seeing this as a reality in this country.

Here in Washington state I drive by a pot store once in awhile. Today there was a nice pickup-truck with the architectural company name on the side pulling out of the lot. A landscape worker's truck was in the lot, and a BMW. The work trucks are what I found disconcerting.

Say what you will about legal marijuana, but the two cannabis industry stocks I bought on Thursday last week are up over 31% and 25% respectively at the close today.

If they were pulling out of a liquor store lot, would you worry they planned to work drunk?
