In the event that happens the president may nationalize the California National Guard. It immediately becomes subject to the US Army command structure. There goes Jerry’s army.
Great start. Let Trump negotiate it. Then let go only the counties that want to go.

The SCOTUS didn’t settle anything.
The whole state needs to go. It can sub divide on its own, I do not want anything holding up this deal.
And with all honesty I expect the latter is more likely.
I would say if California secedes there ain’t squat you or anyone else is going to do about it. Nobody is going to invade CA. Nobody.
The only thing less certain or possible than California seceding is the chances of CA being invaded by the US Army.
Texas, Nevada, and Iowa take heart. Two rock solid California conservatives may be moving soon to one of your states.

That’s the only sane argument I’ve hard against letting them go. Couldn’t we just make it very clear to the Caliban that we’ve gone back to scorched earth Monroe doctrine? Extend the wall to cut the coastal areas of CA off (we will take the farm lands), give them unrestricted immigration and call it MAXICO.
If they leave the union, we should declare war, invade and then deport anyone who voted to leave.

If the US Army ever invades CA then there will be 10 civil wars and not just one.
There is NO LEGAL way for California to secede, any action taken towards that end is an act of TREASON against the United States.
We went through this already 150 years ago
Once you understand the liberal mindset, you’ll understand that there is NO WAY California will break off.
What we think we see is a bunch of liberals wanting to rule over a state filled with liberals. No, they don’t, they want to rule over TEXAS and every other red state - the left is NEVER happy ruling just over themselves, they need to stick it in our faces...re-educating Red America...camps if need be...or worse.
And they nearly achieved that dream in 2016, except for Trump winning. And they’ll never stop trying...so that forces them to remain part of America. When you thirst ABSOLUTE POWER (think Stalin, Mao, Hitler...) you’re never satisfied with some little enclave. So even if a secession vote passes, the legislature won’t lift a finger - or else they forfeit the BIG PRIZE, which is ruling over Texas and other like states.
Please quote the article and section of the US Constitution that pertains to secession. Waiting....
