Few performers seem willing to step up and entertain the country when the new president is sworn in on Jan. 20. With the news last week that opera singer Andrea Bocelli had bowed to pressure and dropped out of the Inauguration Day concert, and with a member of the Rockettes leading a social-media rebellion against performing for the president, Kid Rock is currently the biggest name scheduled to appear.
And liberals are giddy. Because they still don’t get it.
Robert Reich, Bill Clinton’s labor secretary who has transformed himself into the Michael Moore of Facebook, is promoting something called the Freedom United Concert to air at the same time as the inauguration. The concert would benefit all the usual liberal charities and Reich hopes to get big names like Jay-Z and Madonna to perform. “Presto,” he writes. “The Trump inauguration loses all the TV ratings. Basically, no one watches it.”
That’ll show him.
Jay-Z and Madonna both already performed during the election to gin up support for Hillary Clinton — and clearly failed. But sure, one more concert should swing the country to Reich’s side.
The real issue is the bubble created by the left’s Stalinized airbrushing of non-liberals out of American popular culture.
Lin Manuel Miranda is running a contest to raise money for Planned Parenthood. For a $10 donation, you can be entered into a drawing to see his show “Hamilton” in three cities. Miranda’s mom is on the national board of directors of Planned Parenthood Action Fund, so this is clearly a cause he cares about.
There has been exactly zero controversy over his fund-raiser — yet imagine if it were for the National Rifle Association or any other popular conservative cause....

The left is showing its true colors—again. A cavalcade of losers and winners. Maybe Huma could sing, or Bill C. play the sax? Hillary could dance? Acts could be seperated with rants about how awful Trump is and how racist his supporters are? Maybe the Cast from Hamilton could do a song from their racist diatribe of a play. Sorry, your Progressive ship has sailed.
That moron would have to pay ME and BIG LEAGUE bucks...TAX FREE, to boot, for me to even vaguely entertain the idea of seeing his stupid, revisionist history, lousy, show.

I’ll be honest, i would just like to see a real inuguration of an eligible candidate that didn’t have a fake history, a faux “wife” and a non muslim. Doesn’t heed a Beyonce nor Roman Pillars or secret swearings in on something other than the bible, get er done and lets get to work repairing what Obama trashed!
We don’t let our children play with “those people’s” children.

And the whole hullabaloo, re who is going to turn up and perform for the Trump inauguration, is that NONE of the Hollyweirdo bunch is and stars in other fields aren't either, but the latter for many different reasons. Ergo...your suggestion isn't really all that germain.
I think that the left of Hollywood is in for a big surprise because there concert will not sell to anyone but the hardcore left.
Something I hope the Trump team will do is find some young up-and coming artists who are looking for a big break. And introduce them to the world at his inaugural bash.
I'm sure the puerile little snots are giggling about the acronym like 12 year old boys.
The obvious choice to star at Trump’s Inaugural is Hank Williams Jr! Just to make Obama listen to Bucephalus!
