Miranda’s mom is on the national board of directors of Planned Parenthood Action Fund, so this is clearly a cause he cares about. There has been exactly zero controversy over his fund-raiser —

Robert Reich, Bill Clinton’s labor secretary who has transformed himself into the Michael Moore of Facebook, is promoting something called the Freedom United Concert to air at the same time as the inauguration. The concert would benefit all the usual liberal charities and Reich hopes to get big names like Jay-Z and Madonna to perform. “Presto,” he writes. “The Trump inauguration loses all the TV ratings. Basically, no one watches it.”

I've no doubt DJT would rather spend the time doing something productive. Like canceling executive orders. Or, maybe revoking immigration status for thousands. Or starting on the wall. Or ....

I wouldn’t care if it was nothing but the swearing-in ceremony followed by a decent marching band playing Star Spangled Banner. I suspect that millions would watch it, and liberals would look at us like the Grinch looks at the singing Whos of Whoville on Christmas morning, caroling away even though their presents have been taken. That’s not what this is about.

In my perfect world, there’d be no Inauguration ceremonies.

From the White House, show Mr. Trump taking the Presidential oath, followed by a televised address to the country. Then back to the grindstone.

There’s too much important work to be done to waste time with needless pageantry. That kind of stuff is for royalty, not a public servant.
