On average, Democrats (that’s my team (*) see footnote below) use guns for shooting the innocent. We call that crime.
On average, Republicans use guns for sporting purposes and self-defense.
If you don’t believe me, you can check the statistics on the Internet that don’t exist. At least I couldn’t find any that looked credible.
But we do know that race and poverty are correlated. And we know that poverty and crime are correlated. And we know that race and political affiliation are correlated. Therefore, my team (Clinton) is more likely to use guns to shoot innocent people, whereas the other team (Trump) is more likely to use guns for sporting and defense.
That’s a gross generalization. Obviously. Your town might be totally different.

I may have read his articles before, or seen his cartoons, but I’m not familiar with his name. Thanks for the insight into this character. My opinion was based solely on skimming this article. Nutz!

I enjoyed the article - even though the title meme is not correct — there is no gun control problem, there is a intended gun confiscation by the Dems problem.
I think you missed what is going on. The schizophrenic risk profile is for California, which is all in for Hillary, and which is where he lives, and which he believes poses actual physical danger to him should he come out backing Trump. On the other hand, should he expose Hillary's weaknesses, praise Trump's expertise, and claim to support Hillary, Californians are literally too stupid to understand what he's doing - which, of course, is why they support Hillary in the first place.
California is a special kind of crazy. NLP is the State Religion here. Californians will describe their own insanity, hatred, and hypocrisy with extreme detail while accusing their targets of it. Rich and powerful people do it, poor and powerless people do it, bureaucrats, teachers, students, beach bums do it. And they all believe that this tactic, this single insanity causing tactic, proves how smart they are. I'm being very serious - they can't buy a gallon of milk without claiming lactose intolerance and denying they are in the store, AS they are paying for the milk.
THAT is where Scott Adams lives.

No, I think he is simply pointing out how unhinged some Clinton supporters are acting (at least the ones that have posted to his blog).
So they apparently switched to trolling the comments section on the blog, creating sock puppet accounts to post racist and sexist responses that pretend to support Trump. So, he has disabled comments altogether.
Let’s say we successfully ban and confiscate all guns. What will that do to or for law abiding people? It will expose us to an unthinkably horrific crime wave. The remaining weapons will mostly be clubs, knives, fists, and feet, the very kinds of weapons that can be most effectively used by the young, male, criminal element. Guns primarily enable the rest of us to defend ourselves against those criminals and terrorists.
Just look at formerly Great Britain, where violent criminals run wild, courtesy of the law abiding population being deprived of their guns. After all, Americians are not genetically superior to Brits, causing us to have a far lower rate of “hot” burglaries, car hijackings, and home invasions than the Brits; rather, our lower rate of that kind of violent crime is because of our guns and the Second Amendment.
In other words, guns are generally instruments of affirmative good because they enable the peaceful and law abiding people to protect themselves against criminals and terrorists. That, of course, makes gun grabbers affirmatively evil.
Oh, OK. That’s what I get for skimming articles.
I get his fears then from that perspective. I won’t put
a Trump bumper sticker on the car or a yard sign in front
of the house for the same reason and I’m in small town CO.

This might be part of a Dilbertian dialectic for all we know (he explained it, kind of, due to fear of being knocked off) and he might overtly switch later this year.

Well, thanks a lot. You had such a traumatic experience with Scott Adams you can’t even remember what it was about. As such, you’ll never know if he ‘got over it’ or not, because you don’t remember what it was. But you’ve managed to tar Adams sufficiently to influence at least one poster negatively toward a prolific, widely-read Trump supporter. Congratulations.

You might start off by just googling "Scott Adams Dilbert".
Reading a few Dilbert comic strips would also help you understand who he is.
Adams is a very smart and successful person.
I didn’t know this guy was the author of the Dilbert comic strips.
I never liked those comics.
I have enjoyed Scott Adams columns this year. Once again he speaks the truth. If you live in California and you are an outspoken celebrity supporting Trump you are putting your personal safety at extreme risk. The side that advocates for gun control actually are very dangerous and it is not hard to find numerous examples.
Historically it is the left who believes in killing their fellow citizens and taking their stuff. Look at China and Russia for examples, but they are just the most obvious examples. People are willfully ignorant when they try to portray Hitler as right wing. Nazi stood for National sozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei” - the National Socialist German Worker's Party. When you say the words socialist workers party, does that sound more like Republican or like Democrat? Hitler was a strong advocate of gun control for the safety German citizens.
Hitler was a liberal socialist who wanted to confiscate all of the stuff from neighboring countries and any Germans who opposed him to pay for the massive deficits he amassed putting Germans back to work in government programs, socialized medicine for all, and building infrastructure and also building up the German War Machine. Hitler blamed all of Germany's woes on the rich, the Jews and foreigners so that they had an excuse to rob them blind. Sound familiar privileged white folks? Hitler was forced to coddle the rich titans of industry, and those who had power and influence because of other factors, but the wealth of those who had no way to protect it was confiscated using many means, murder being the most prevalent technique ultimately.
Socialism is the new code word for Democrats who want to redistribute wealth. Historically murder has always the underlying primary tactic used by any regime who has sought to redistribute the wealth. Who knows what the eventual body count will be if Hillary somehow comes into power. She is as corrupt and evil as any dictator one can think of.
Obama is Lenin, Hillary is Stalin, Sanders is Trotsky... My apologies to Lenin, Stalin, and Trotsky all of whom had far more character than their Democrat counterparts. Each of these Russians had to overcome great challenges at great personal risk to reach their esteemed positions in life. What did Barry, Hillary, or Bernie ever do other than being lying do-nothing snakes to reach their positions in life?
The outcome if the Democrats are not stopped now will be devastating to the country. Scott Adams “endorsement” of Hillary is saying this loud and clear to those who have even the slightest ability to read between the lines.

It is often said (I have said it myself) that pistols are only for shooting people. But that is objectively false; there are hundreds of millions of legally owned guns - and in comparison hardly any murders by handgun. What in fact do handguns actually do? They are used for target practice, and by their very existence they intimidate criminals. Exactly what a policeman’s handgun mostly does.
