5. Hard work in preparing a post is erased with a only notice saying "X site may not be posted to FreeRepublic due to copyright/request of the copyright holder." Instead, have a quick check for in the edit window for those sites that prohibit posting to FR so that we don't spend a lot of effort getting a post ready, only to have our work disappear into the never-neverland of it can't be posted here due to copyright issues. Alternately. give us an option to make it a quick LINK ONLY posting so that Freepers can still learn about the important information that may be only available by actually visiting the site.

Have to be honest, the folks posting on behalf of Donald Trump seem to have no trouble 24/7 posting non-stop on top of, behind, inside, outside and generally all over.

Good one -- that had come up before in some Freepmail ramblings about this.

Eliminating separate Forums/Topics/Keywords would simplify and save a little bandwidth for FR and for its users -- http://www.freerepublic.com/(topic number)/posts Those are called "zigs."
So you are saying we should take off every zig. For great justice?
To: SunkenCiv
The two things I’d like to see on FR.
1. A button/link at the bottom of every page that “Returns to the top of page”
2. Sticky threads based on issues, not the time they where posted.

- Currently, people post duplicates or repetitive articles because they don't bother to actually view what's already there. In a database of 2+ million topics, that probably deserves some slack, but it's basically laziness -- if the previous recent topic wasn't seen, why would anything think their new one will be?
Duplication in topics would be reduced by the suggested changes to the posting routines in suggestion #3, but also by having most-active-tags lead the heading of the pages, rather than the possibly hard-coded ones we see now.

Yes or like this:
To: SunkenCiv It would be nice if 'View Replies' was 'No Replies' or 'View
n Replies'.
Or perhaps blank unless there was a reply to view?...

I’m not sure why, but that reminded of a line from a movie that I can’t quite recall.
1st person calls out the 2nd’s statement, “That’s a made up word”
The 2nd person replies, “They are all made up words”.
