Unlike Cruz Trump is not running on being the best Christian in the world. What Trump does is in the open not hidden or behind closed doors. Cruz obviously knew the background of his staff and that shows this lie as less a mistake than he claimed.

His certainly has poor choice in people but we should trust who he would appoint to SC? Like he is a long term friend of “Obamacare” Roberts.

Btw the way it was McCain not all POW he chided and I have heard much worse here about that jerk McCain.

I watch almost every one of them on Youtube, i hear about at some events Trump uses screens for people outside or in an overflow area.
Perhaps in retrospect it would be stooping too low for Trump, i fully expect him to continue with being blunt, honest and orally descriptive to say otherwise how he calls it.

What bothers me is this....good guys finish last, nobody cares about NBC, born in Canada, nor cheating, because its the norm now. Its acceptable to break the laws, to flaunt it, to be just like looters, because nobody is enforcing the election laws.

So....Trump has to just get his arms deep into the manure to pull out the prize. And that Americans can see the games and antics, make their votes without being intimidated or hypnotized.

How funny it is that if Trump won Iowa and some of these political highjinks were used by him...

We would never hear the end of how brilliant the guy is and he is such a fighter...

Trump was a loser in Iowa because he lacked a good enough ground game...

OMG, if it had been Trump, they would psychologists, aclu types, other pols, probably even a letter from the Pope demanding he drop out.

At his press conference yesterday, he said as much. He said he didn't really invest in a ground game because everyone told him he could never win Iowa, which seems like pretty sound conventional wisdom.

Old habits getting up at 0 dark 30, besides i have to have breakfast by 4am and then drive into town to the local high school indoor swimming pool for my therapy swims. Before the school pe sessions. Have to be there at 5:30.

Only in Wasilla Alaska

I just think Alaska is one of the most romantic places in the world. I want to go on a cruise there some day. You're very lucky.

That image isn't a dirty trick. Doesn't look photoshopped to me.

The image is irrelevant and immaterial to the topic of the thread. But don't let you Trump-haters let that stand in the way of diverting discussion of the issue, which is Cruz campaign manager Jeff Roe who appears to have a propensity for dirty tricks with this new revelation of his past behavior.

If Cruz wanted to send a message that he intends to run a campaign 'without even the appearance of impropriety', he should fire Jeff Roe today.

Its got its roughness at times. Long long winter is one of them, its very hard staying in good physical shape. I’m too old at 59 to just sit out winter in a recliner posting comebacks at 2am day after day as well, but its something to pass the time waiting for spring.

For better or worse, Presidential campaigns have a long history of dirty tricks and scurrilous accusations. It has long been a blood sport of sorts.

Jefferson vs. Adams, 1800

In case you're wondering exactly how down-and-dirty these campaigns got, consider the fact that this is the only election in history where a vice president has run against the president he was currently serving under. You can imagine that things were a little tense in the White House in the months leading up to the election. Jefferson hired a writer to pen insults rather than dirty his own hands (at least at first). One of his most creative lines said that Adams was a "hideous hermaphroditical character which has neither the force and firmness of a man, nor the gentleness and sensibility of a woman." Adams' Federalists carried things even further, asking voters, "Are you prepared to see your dwellings in flames... female chastity violated... children writhing on the pike? GREAT GOD OF COMPASSION AND JUSTICE, SHIELD MY COUNTRY FROM DESTRUCTION." I bet the Federalists would be so very upset to know that Jefferson was immortalized in 1936 as one of America's great presidents on Mount Rushmore. After such a nasty election, Congress passed the Twelfth Amendment, stating that the nominee to get the second-most number of votes would no longer be elected vice president.

Jackson vs. Adams, 1828

Apparently those Adams boys are scrappy fellows. When Andrew Jackson ran against incumbant John Quincy Adams in 1828, it was not pretty. Adams' previous term had not been a very successful one, but he was prepared to sling a little mud anyway. He and his handlers said Jackson had the personality of a dictator, was too uneducated to be president (they claimed he spelled Europe 'Urope'), and hurled all sorts of horrible insults at his wife, Rachel. Rachel had been in an abusive marriage with a man who finally divorced her, but divorce was still quite the scandal at the time. The Federalists called her a "dirty black wench", a "convicted adulteress" and said she was prone to "open and notorious lewdness". On their end, Jackson's people said that Adams had sold his wife's maid as a concubine to the czar of Russia. Jackson won pretty handily - 642,553 votes to Adams' 500,897.

Lincoln vs. Douglas, 1860

Abraham Lincoln was dealt his share of crap. But he was pretty good at dealing it too. Although it's normal - and expected - for candidates to stump across the country in any little small town that will have them, but in 1860 it was considered a little tacky. Stephen Douglas chose this tactic anyway, but claimed that he was really just taking a leisurely train ride from D.C. to New York to visit his mom. Lincoln and his supporters took note of the fact that it took him over a month to get there and even put out a "Lost Child" handbill that said he "Left Washington, D.C. some time in July, to go home to his mother... who is very anxious about him. Seen in Philadelphia, New York City, Hartford, Conn., and at a clambake in Rhode Island. Answers to the name Little Giant. Talks a great deal, very loud, always about himself." 'Little Giant' was a potshot at Douglas' height - he was only 5'4". He was also said to be "about five feet nothing in height and about the same in diameter the other way." Douglas took aim at Lincoln, too, saying he was a "horrid-looking wretch, sooty and scoundrelly in aspect, a cross between the nutmeg dealer, the horse-swapper and the nightman." Another good one? "Lincoln is the leanest, lankest, most ungainly mass of legs and arms and hatchet face ever strung on a single frame."

Neither Trump or Cruz has yet accused anyone of being a "hideous hermaphroditical character which has neither the force and firmness of a man, nor the gentleness and sensibility of a woman" but then Trump made a comparison of Ben Carson's personality of that of a pedophile and suggested that the only cure for someone so "pathological" as Carson might be death or castration.

"He wrote a book and in the book, he said terrible things about himself," Trump said of Carson. "He said that he's pathological and he's got basically pathological disease ... I don't want a person that's got pathological disease."

"I said that if you're a child molester, a sick puppy, a child molester, there's no cure for that - there's only one cure and we don't want to talk about that cure, that's the ultimate cure. No there's two, there's death and the other thing. But if you're a child molester, there's no cure, they can't stop you. Pathological, there's no cure. There's only one cure--we don't want to talk about that cure. That's the ultimate cure. Well, there's two, there's death, and the other thing. "

There was nothing dirty however for pointing out Trump's past cozy associations with the Clintons IMO. It was not at all untruthful.

When Clinton last ran for office, Trump was torn between supporting her and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani. " They're both terrific people, and I hope they both get the nomination," he told CNN in 2007, adding that he thought Clinton would surround herself with good people to negotiate a deal with Iran. A year later, Trump wondered publicly why Clinton wasn't chosen as President Obama's running-mate.

In 2012, as Obama was running for re-election, Trump called Clinton "terrific" again in an interview with Fox News, saying she performed well as Secretary of State.

"Hillary Clinton I think is a terrific woman," he told Greta Van Susteren. "I am biased because I have known her for years. I live in New York. She lives in New York. I really like her and her husband both a lot. I think she really works hard. And I think, again, she's given an agenda, it is not all of her, but I think she really works hard and I think she does a good job. I like her.

Having Jeff Roe is symbolic of the kind of people Cruz will surround himself with if elected and the man who helped give us the Corker Bill, TPA and accepts donations from the cheap labor express with finally show. I have had 7 miserable years with a jerk in the WH surrounded by the likes of Jarret...enough.

This is politics. I don’t see the big conspiracy. I do see the media protecting Rubio from his role. And a bunch of people crying foul just like their hero who could care less that their guy personally trashed candidates.
