No, I work 1350 miles from home thanks to 0bama and his fascist ways.

Life is good however but IMO 0bama is hell spawn made popular by misguided miscreants..

It depends on the state, city, and area of city whether or not I feel endangered. I take appropriate precautions.

What are they talking about? Hairdressers, car mechanics, various service people who are in licensed professions?

Do they also mean doctors lawyers and CPAs?

Do You Feel Endangered When You Travel Out of State?

In California - yes. We don't go as often now.

Much of the licensing is a combination of money for the state and a protection racket for the licensees.

When I travel to cities led by Democrats or are majority black do I fear my safety. Memphis and Jackson, Tennessee, and Jackson, Mississippi, are the nearest hell holes to me and I stay away from them unless I absolutely have to travel to those cities.

” Instead, occupational licensure protects existing practitioners and businesses from competition and unnecessarily prevents others from using their talents to make a living.”

I’m a Professional Engineer. State Engineering boards are the most shiftless, lazy group. Their sole purpose is to harvest license fees from people like me that are registered in multiple states. They don’t care about the profession, they care about bogus “continuing education” under-the-table deals and with getting paid for doing little.

I don’t have a problem with licensure requirements, you can make an argument for it for a lot reasons - some good, some spurious.

BUT....it should be accepted in any state.

To do this, state licensing boards would have to harmonize requirements and licensing (and disciplinary actions). That sounds like work, so I don’t see it happening.

I regard Nevada’s nearby border with California as ‘Checkpoint Charlie’ leading into Soviet-era East Germany, if that answers any questions.

I’m surprised there’s still a pleasant looking ‘Welcome to California!’ sign there with a picture of their Golden Poppy state flower on it instead of a big white sign with red stenciled Cyrillic letters reading ‘STOK!’ in front of T-62 tanks, high fences with razor wire, barking German Shepherds, and searchlights scanning the area. What they do have is the California Highway Patrol laying in wait in little camouflaged cutouts along the highway.

I rarely go into California, but when I do I can tell you that passing the ‘Welcome to Nevada’ sign showing the old gold prospector panning in the stream is the best part of the trip.

LOL, only when I go to Arkansas with a license plate on the front from Missouri. Had a guy in a big pick up play chicken with me on a back road on the way home after driving through the beautiful mountains. I was in a little Saturn. My kid was in the back seat. There was only a little shoulder to my right and then a ditch. Creep.

Good thing he didn’t know I was born in the Bronx or God knows what he would have done.

I hate leaving my CC weapon behind when I enter Cali. Um, the one used to have before the paddle wheel boat accident.
