Donald Trump: The Least Charitable Billionaire In The World
News Examiner ^ | 8/15 | Ben Davis

Posted on 12/27/2015 3:11:11 AM PST by St_Thomas_Aquinas

How miserly is The Donald?

From 1990 through 2009, Trump has personally donated a total of just $3.7 million to his foundation, which was incorporated in 1987. In fact, the billionaire is not even the largest contributor to his own charitable organization.

Tax returns show that World Wrestling Entertainment has given Trump’s foundation a total of $5 million in return for the developer’s assistance in working a couple of televised angles along with WWE boss Vince McMahon. The WWE gave Trump’s foundation $4 million in 2007 for his help in promoting that year’s WrestleMania festivities, and another $1 million in 2009, when Trump (pictured below with McMahon) pretended to purchase part of the WWE empire.

The real estate titan’s foundation has also banked $205,000 from media outlets and supermarket tabloids in return for exclusive photos (People magazine, for example, paid the foundation $150,000 in 2006 for the first shots of Trump’s newborn son Barron).

During the past two decades, the Trump foundation has made charitable contributions totaling a paltry $6.7 million.

Helmsley, by comparison, gave $5 million to the American Red Cross when New Orleans was submerged, and, post-9/11, she gave $5 million to the New York Police and Fire Widows and Children*s Benefit Fund.

In 2006, Trump’s foundation did give $1000 to the New York Rescue Workers Detoxification Fund, a controversial Scientology program (co-founded by Tom Cruise) that promoted a *purification rundown* for firemen and others who inhaled toxins while working near the smoldering remains of the World Trade Center.

Somebody reviews Trump s giving and the discussion and investigation is finished. It s settled science.

It’s like WaPo and NYT doing a search of their own archives re NJ Muslims Celebrating on 9 11 and finding nothing. Go figure. So if these two rags couldn’t find it, it didn’t happen.

But pressed by the AP on the details of his contributions, Trump campaign spokeswoman Hope Hicks provided a partial list of donations that appeared to correspond with the foundation's gifts, indicating that Trump may be counting other people's charitable giving as his own.
Even the Trump campaign spokesman can*t come up with any non-foundation donations from Trump.

Maybe she is lying, too.

Well his son has one of the largest private charities in the country so maybe he is giving to that ? The Eric Trump Foundation that is dedicated to raising money for terminally-ill children at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, has donated over $28 million to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in California alone. Very impressive. And at least Donald does support in the use of his golf courses for charitable invitational tournaments.

Not at all surprising but also totally irrelevant to the presidential race. Clinton and Obama donate more. Does that make them better presidential material? I think not.

“Next, they’ll be accusing Trump of leaving the toilet seat up.”

Exactly. Very weak criticism.

Trump has done one-on-one charity, like fly a sick boy across the country.

I will bet Anyone Anytime it could never happen.

Just another keyboard braggen' bettor. You really don't mean what you are spouting, it just makes you 'feel' like a big shot.

I will bet you $ 1,000 that Trump will spend whatever it takes to get elected {and I'm a Cruzer}.

We will both put a $ 1,000 into an escrow account, let Jim Robinson hold the key, the winner gets his money back and the loser donates the $1,000 to FR.

I am Anyone and it is Anytime.

I, and my Nigerian Lawyer, will set up the escrow account you are not to be trusted.

I ll say it one more time. YOU enlighten us

Do you trust Trump s campaign spokesperson?

But pressed by the AP on the details of his contributions, Trump campaign spokeswoman Hope Hicks provided a partial list of donations that appeared to correspond with the foundation s gifts, indicating that Trump may be counting other people s charitable giving as his own. AP
Trump s spokesperson is lying!

And so what is your point? That you found something to demean? How many times has Obama attended a Christian Church in the last 7 years? How much has Hillary given to charity? Why does Jeb Bush speak only Spanish at home? There are PLENTY of things out there to carp about.

It seems that you have taken over pathetic Trump bashing from CW. Have you taken up the banner now?

If you really have a candidate, you should find good things about him to say and convince us and stick with that. Either that or help keep Jeb Bush from getting the nomination.

And so what is your point?

My point is that Trump is miserly.

That is an important measure of character for me, especially for someone who purports to be a Christian.

AP would.

In fact, they may be able to bumble and stumble and rope-a-dope around and never “find” it, especially if it in any way might make Trump look good.

Also, the thread headline is probably a lie.

Of all the billionaires in the entire world (or in the United States), Trump is the very least charitable?

I don't have the time to research the charitable giving by every billionaire in the world, but that statement is quite unlikely. Where is the proof? My guess is that Trump donates more to charity than 99.9% of other Americans? And I think that's probably a fairly accurate statement.

Even if Trump were least charitable billionaire, maybe he'd be more careful about ****ing away trillions of tax dollars than another moonbat lib. 50 years of Santa Claus liberalism has gotten the economy into some awfully deep doo-doo.

Several pertinent comments to be made.

Would this be an organization similar to the one the Clinton’s have set up to give tax shelter to themselves while clawing their way out of the ‘poor house’

Included in Trump’s donations to his charity is there mention of his private jet being the only available transportation for a young lad who needed medical treatment clear across country *TRUMP gladly donated his jet for special transport to help the child.

Does it mention the time and effort spent to see Veterans receive proper and prompt responses when they are in need of medical attention.

There are other cases to be considered but most likely are never mentioned. There are times not all charity = cash.
On occasion just a kind gesture, a small acknowledgement might be regarded as such.

Bendavis slap down on TRUMP fails to hit the target.

donating to charity isn’t what it used to be. Too many charities are wasted resources

Yeah, and the Warren Buffets, George Soros and Bill Gates of the world give money to phony "charities" like Planned Parenthood, which actually perform evil with the money. When Gates provides hundreds of Microsoft products with myriads of strings attached, it is not much better. When the Kennedys donate a resort building with the understanding that they still get to use it whenever they want, that also isn't much better.

You haven't answered my question. Which candidate do you support, and do you work for that campaign?

I don't understand where you people are coming from. Not one of the pols who has been elected to office has succeeded in rallying together enough people to turn the tide.

Another hour, another ineffectual Trump hit piece. This one is probably one of the least credible that I have seen to date. Keep trying. Maybe you’ll find something, anything that will stick. This is not it.

I don’t like charities I’m sorry. I gave to a few when I came into a small windfall and I now never stop getting emails and letters, very annoying and I don’t trust them to use the money for what they say they will. Is Trump supposed to throw his money away?
