Donald Trump: The Least Charitable Billionaire In The World
News Examiner ^ | 8/15 | Ben Davis

How miserly is The Donald?

From 1990 through 2009, Trump has personally donated a total of just $3.7 million to his foundation, which was incorporated in 1987. In fact, the billionaire is not even the largest contributor to his own charitable organization.

Tax returns show that World Wrestling Entertainment has given Trump’s foundation a total of $5 million in return for the developer’s assistance in working a couple of televised angles along with WWE boss Vince McMahon. The WWE gave Trump’s foundation $4 million in 2007 for his help in promoting that year’s WrestleMania festivities, and another $1 million in 2009, when Trump (pictured below with McMahon) pretended to purchase part of the WWE empire.

The real estate titan’s foundation has also banked $205,000 from media outlets and supermarket tabloids in return for exclusive photos (People magazine, for example, paid the foundation $150,000 in 2006 for the first shots of Trump’s newborn son Barron).

During the past two decades, the Trump foundation has made charitable contributions totaling a paltry $6.7 million.

Helmsley, by comparison, gave $5 million to the American Red Cross when New Orleans was submerged, and, post-9/11, she gave $5 million to the New York Police and Fire Widows and Children*s Benefit Fund.

In 2006, Trump’s foundation did give $1000 to the New York Rescue Workers Detoxification Fund, a controversial Scientology program (co-founded by Tom Cruise) that promoted a *purification rundown* for firemen and others who inhaled toxins while working near the smoldering remains of the World Trade Center.

So he has donated what, $350 thousand per year?

Trump*s a nice guy, but he*s cheap. And he cares about the little guy, except when it comes to spending his own money.

Trump: the billionaire you can trust.
He*s not like those other billionaires TM

donating to charity isn’t what it used to be. Too many charities are wasted resources

“So he has donated what, $350 thousand per year?”

How much have you donated?

You sound like a libtard.

Charitable foundations are little more than tax shelters for millionaires and billionaires. They aren’t the best guide to measure a person’s charitable bent.

How many millions of books has he sold and how much would he have made from them if he didn’t give the profits away, as many have said he does?

Uh, it is his money. Is his supposedly small level of charitable contributions a high priority for you? I think a lot of us are more concerned with illegal immigration, unsustainable trade deficits, crushing debt and government spending, our nations weak position in the world, etc. But I guess you’ve got your priorities.

yep. You don't know if you're feeding a child in Africa or paying the founder's mortgage on his multimillion dollar house or Bugatti.

I don’t care about his charity giving.

i’m concerned that he HATES to spend money.

got his engagement ring for his wife for free.

he brags about how he’s on top having spent the least.

Will that work in a general? I don’t know.

I live in NYC. The guy does not like to part with dough.

and that’s cool.

But if you think he is going to spend half a billion of his own money on an election, I will bet Anyone Anytime it could never happen.

maybe he doesn’t need to.

When I think on the other so-called charitable billionaires out there with love of humanity and goodness and fairness who use their donations, foundations and schemes to effect rabid liberal political change (Gates, Bloomberg, Soros, et al) somehow what Trump gives or does not give takes on a more balanced perspective to me.

Frankly, I think this hit piece digging up Gates, Bloomberg and even that liberal-target Leona Helmsley all being beatified by the writer seems just a bit far stretched.

Here’s a little perspective. Google “Bill/Hillary Used Underwear Deductions”

OK. So why hasn*t he given any money to charity?

Leona Helmsley seems like Mother Theresa in comparison:

Helmsley, by comparison, gave $5 million to the American Red Cross when New Orleans was submerged, and, post-9/11, she gave $5 million to the New York Police and Fire Widows and Children*s Benefit Fund.

How much money given to charities is wasted? In contrast, keep in mind situations where Trump provided help directly to those in need. Besides that, he pays his own way in the campaign. Compare that to Jeb, hillary, and most of the others who would rather owe favors than pay their own way in the campaign.

Isn't it a Biblical thing that it's better to teach people how to fish than make them dependent on handouts? Isn't that what Trump is promising? By making America great again, people will be able to earn their own way instead of depending on charity.

Those of you who insist on continuing to put down Trump, the one candidate who has a chance to save the nation, are doing a lot of harm. We could be going on to winning people over for November if Trump could secure the nomination now.

Who is your favored candidate? Are you working for the campaign? I think that's a fair question.

Next, they'll be accusing Trump of leaving the toilet seat up.

Doesn't the Clinton Foundation pay Chelsea $600 thousand per year? That sounds like a money laundering scheme. I'll guess that any Trump donations -- that are much more than I give -- actually go to charity.

This writer is just examining his charitable foundation. Whose to say that that’s the sole extent of his charitable giving? Have you researched it enough to know that his charitable foundation is the only vehicle he uses to donate money?
